Can we stop with braindead champions? :/

I swear every champion from Pyke on has just been un punishable garbage that can make 8000 errors and not be punished but if you make a single mistake into any of them, oh boy. Your about to be ripped in half.

It’s actually stupid.

I punish pyke all the time. As he is charging his Q or even if he misses. i'll grab him as a blitz main. The only thing thats dangerous about pyke is his execution ult.

Except after you grab him he has a dash then regent half his health

Nope, blitzs grab is a 2.5 sec stun so I'll Q E Auto for a knock up and ult while my ADC autos as well. Thats enough time to severly dmg a pyke.

Assuming he doesn’t buffer his e to cancel your pull altogether sure.

But again. That puts the ball ENTIRELY in his court.

It is nearly impossible to consistently CC buffer every hook that comes your way. No, he doesn't "have the ball entirely in his court" because 99% of the time a Blitz hook means death if you get hit by it.

Buffering a blitz hook is the easiest thing in this game. I manage to do it with almost a 90% success rate on Ezreal. And I’m not even a good Ezreal.

Yeah, you can do it because Tristana and Ezreal have the best moves for CC buffering hands down. You can get hit by a Blitz hook and still have a good second to escape it as those two champions.

Regular champions have a much harder time CC buffering since their cast times are much shorter, meaning the window to actually CC buffer is shorter as well. It's nearly impossible to consistently do it as champions with quick dashes like Yasuo, Lucian, or Pyke.

Now let me ask. What happens when Pyke buffers wrong? That’s right. He dashes from where blitz pulls him and gets knock up at the range of his dash. Then blitz gets stunned.

Except 1) if Pyke fails his buffer, that means he gets pulled mid E and his only escape is gone and 2) Blitz hook stuns his target, so casting Q/R/E is a true combo on Pyke, keeping him CCed for a minimum of 2 seconds.

I wasn't talking about gameplay at all. I was referring to lore and his quotes because I think every champion has skill expression. This could be any number of things ranging from mechanical outplay for someone like Zed or Ekko or simply knowing where to be and when to be there on someone like Tryndamere or Singed.

At max level, Pyke is tied for the 4th highest max health in the game with Tahm Kench. He has the highest base armor in the game, finishing with 130 armor. His magic resist is fairly high as well in comparison to other champions, finishing at 58.

Now, do you know why Pyke gets these high base stats? Because that's all he'll ever get.

Tank Pyke isn't a thing anymore. No item Pyke purchases can increase his set health amount, and the ONLY item he can buy without severely gimping his damage early-mid game is Maw of Malmortius, which is a rare purchase on it's own. Pyke needs those base stats to perform his job as an aggressive support-assassin, take those away and he's completely useless.

Yes, you can punish Pyke, probably the most severely out of any champion in the game when he's CCed. He crumbles the instant he's locked down, just because you aren't doing it doesn't mean it isn't possible. Try playing Morgana, Nautilus, Malzahar, or any champion with 1-2 seconds of hard CC and you'll see this happen, without fail, 100% of the time.

Except none of that matters when he dashes out, stuns you and stealths away to regen HIS ENTIRE HEALTH BAR.

New champions are made to be so fucking overloaded that the only person that determines whether they can be punished or not is them. If a thresh pulls a Pyke at any point, there is close to no kill threat.

His grey health works up to a cap that scales over the course of the game.

There is not a single point where Pyke will regen 100% of damage taken. Yes, he does regen a lot, and it's because he's one of if not the squishiest champion both mid and lategame who crumbles at the slightest moment of being focused.

New champions are made to be so fucking overloaded that the only person that determines whether they can be punished or not is them. If a thresh pulls a Pyke at any point, there is close to no kill threat.

1 - Pyke is far from overloaded. As a support, Pyke lacks some of the biggest aspects of being a support. No ranged poke, no heals for his allies, no shields for his allies, no reliable peel other than his telegraphed abilities. He is all in or all out at every point of the game.

2 - Thresh is a bad pick into Pyke, so yeah, there's not much kill threat when hooked. This is where this thing called "skill" comes in because Thresh can flay you out of your E with the correct timing, increasing the kill potential tenfold.

If you get hooked by Nautilus or Blitzcrank? 99% of the time you're dead. Hooked by a Pyke? You're dead if you don't have E up. Rooted by a Morgana? Dead. Malz ulted? Dead. Ashe arrow from a long distance? Dead.

Again, just because you can't punish Pyke doesn't mean it's not possible. He has glaring windows where he can be focused, you're choosing not to learn them and how to fight against him.

Pyke is overloaded.

Let’s compare him to say hmmmm sona. People like to bitch about her lately. Why not.

Sona has Damage amp on her q A heal on her w A shield on w A ms steroid A stun And one of, more damage, a shitty exhaust or a slow.

Low let’s look at Pyke

Massive damage stab A pull A 90% slow A dash A stun on a basic ability A stealth Pseudo immunity to poke (grey health) Dual scalings out his ass A ms steroid A true damage execute that ignores shields A resetting ultimate A blink on kill Doubles kill gold Hp turns into MOAR DAMAGE.

But yeah. Let’s continue this trend of Pyke not being overloaded out his ass.

Ah yes, my favorite Boards-tactic of listing out someone's abilities in the hopes of making them sound overpowered

Listing out someone's abilities doesn't mean they're overloaded lmao, that's not what it means. Him having a lot of aspects to his restricted kit doesn't make him inherently overloaded, overloaded means being able to do large amounts of things that usually require different champions of different roles to accomplish.

Yes, he has all of those things. However, on a very basic level Pyke is not overloaded because he lacks some seriously critical aspects of supporting.

Oh man, my ADC is being poked a lot in lane. Can't heal them. My ADC gets focused in a teamfight? Can't shield and can't reliably peel for them. I missed my ult? Our team's killpower went down massively and we will most likely lose this fight since I don't have much left to fall back on.

Except that is how overloaded works. :/ do you know what overloaded means?

As for healing his adc. That’s not his fucking job. Thresh can’t heal his adc. Because it’s not his job.

Soraka can heal her adc because it is her job. But what can’t she do? That’s right engage.

And missing and ability is not a viable excuse. Everything is useless is we consider missing it. :/

Okay, tell you what, let's go with your method of describing champions. My mystery champion has:

  • A high AA range of 625
  • A stun that can be held indefinitely and never goes away unless they choose use it
  • Very high damage Q
  • When a unit is killed with Q, it refunds mana AND CD
  • Q is point and click, countering all dashes and counterplay
  • High damage W
  • That W can apply an AOE stun due to the passive
  • A built in Thornmail
  • Massive damage reduction
  • Colossal AOE ult with no cast time
  • AOE ult can apply the stun passive as well, meaning it's even more unpredictable
  • The pet summoned from this ability has a built in Sunfire Cape
  • The pet summoned follows up to a thousand units
  • When the champion dies the pet gets enraged, making it even faster and even harder to get away from.

Wow, that's a lot. 14 aspects in total, just like Pyke. I wonder who this OP mystery champion could be?

It's Annie.

This is why listing out someone's abilities to make them sound OP doesn't work because theoretically Annie has the same number of strengths as Pyke, therefore she's OP, overloaded, and should be gutted, right?

Except here’s what you did differently than I did for Pyke. You listed her passive multiple times. ;/ I could easily make that Pyke list twice as long if I listed his shit 4 times.

Oh, gotcha.

So when you list Pyke's abilities multiple times, it's okay, but when I do it for Annie it's incorrect.

Massive damage stab A pull A 90% slow

All the same ability, he gets to choose between one or the other, he doesn't get a hook and the stab.

A dash A stun on a basic ability

Same ability again.

A stealth A MS steroid

Same ability again, also lol at calling it an ms "steroid"

Pseudo immunity to poke (grey health) Hp turns into MOAR DAMAGE

Same ability for the fourth time.

A true damage execute that ignores shields A resetting ultimate A blink on kill Doubles kill gold

Same ability again.

Yeah, totally not hypocritical whatsoever. This is where this conversation ends because it's become clear to me that you're not willing to accept Pyke's weaknesses. You're just choosing to ignore them for the purposes of complaining about him.

Yes. I listed out individual parts of his kit. Here I’ll do Annie seeing as you are too ignorant to do a remotely fair assessment.

Annie has A stun on passive Point and click damage Aoe damage Thornmail and damage reduction Summons a minion Sunfire on minion Enrage on minion.

Oh look. If you use common sense and list out individual shit instead of fluffing it up, she has a whopping 7 mechanics.

Now attempt that with Pyke. I gaurenfuckingtee it’s 2-3x longer a list.

Can you believe that there is a champion this overloaded?

Resourceless

Gets a huge shield for a percentage of the damage he deals

Three consecutive autoattack buffs

Dual scaling out the ass

Mixed damage types

Bonus experience in a duo lane

A built in Sunfire ability for him and an ally

A ms steroid for him and an ally

An aoe burst around him and an ally

Spellvamp that heals him

Spellvamp that heals an ally

Aoe cone in front of him that deals massive damage

Aoe cone also gives him extra shields

A massive damage long duration DOT

Ability to clone an enemy when killed

Ability to clone Dragon when killed

And to top it all off all of his abilities deal magic damage meaning he can get

Grievous wounds on his DOTs from Morello

Slows on his DOTs with rylais

And extra DOTs from liandrys

What an overloaded champion! He must be in every game and win every time!

Oh. It's morde and he's being reworked because no one plays him and he's bad. :/

Be nice if people stop using that term all together. What is brain dead for one person doesn't always come naturally to another, and different champions take different skills.

You can be amazing at Yasuo, but suck on Mundo. You also don't automatically become challenger just because you are a good mechanical player.

Could you imagine? "Congratulations! You have become a good Riven/Yasuo player! You have won League of Legends! Now don't let the door hit you on the way out."

Lol.

Except with every new champion have 9 dashes they are braindead.

When you can fuck up to the point where you are in the enemy fountain, and can’t be punished for it because you have THAT MIJCH mobility, even if you play badly you’ll still do well.

Pyke is pretty dumb to deal with if you're playing someone less mobile, or worse an immobile champ. You pretty much have to fight on his terms at all times, which feels really lousy. I can't count how many games this champion can be WAY out of position and not be punished/killed for it because he can stun you while running away, has a dash, stealth, sustain and for some reason also has extra health that lets him mitigate a fair amount of damage. He does all this while going full damage, so players don't even have to think about what to build on him.

He is incredibly difficult to punish, but can easily punish your champion for making the slightest mistakes. If you're using an immobile champion, you have to play exponentially better than the Pyke player just to break even. He has too much survivability for a champion that's supposed to be an assassin. There's not much risk involved when he can just peace out from any bad trade,

Unless you're playing someone that keep him locked down (I mean constant knockups and stuns), he just gets to do whatever he wants.
