@RiotRepertoir, can we get an elaboration of what "agency" means to you? For future reference.

I'm very curious, because everyone has slightly different meaning for words they use, and i'm having trouble understanding the intent behind something you said.

Specifically, in the malzahar direction, you said

> {quoted} > * Here's some stuff we're less happy with and are actively trying to resolve: > * Malzahar is inherently low agency, and is historically balanced in a way that means he forces similarly low agency situations upon opponents.

What does this sentence mean to you?

think he meant urgency

What, to pull the trigger? [zombie-brand-mindblown]

It means that malzahar does not do anything that forces you to deal with him immediately necessarily. At least most of the time in realistic situations

Being able to 100-0 a target with W,E,R doesn't necessitate intimidate response? Remember these statements were made pre-rework.

I'm not really here to debate whether or not he can actually do whatever, I'm just saying that in all probability that is what this meant. Also its not really new or shocking that a mage might be able to 100-0 at least one target at moderate range

Oh no i completely agree, it's weird that it the concept of 1 full spell rotation = 1 100-0 kill, is for some reason not allowed on malzahar.

My point was that he did force urgency onto the enemy.

I really don't know what you could say about urgency internally on a champion... i can't think of any champion which creates urgency for themselves, some have a little bit on a single ability such as yasuo ult,but nothing like the new malzahar who needs to hit all of the timings to be effective. ~3second cast on Q, to refresh E, R after ~4-5 seconds of W being active, but also ideally ~3 seconds after you refreshed or applies E...

As weeabo sword pointed out, it seems as if the rework was so focused on the concept of malzahar's only strength being his combo, that being able to quickly W,E,R a target meant that you weren't rushed to actually do anything in a fight...

Side Note: finding stats of win rates from previous patches is fucking difficult, spent so long looking i forgot why i wanted them

plug in malzahar's "league of graphs" page into the way back machine and you should get what I think you're looking for.

Or give me a date and I can try to do it

Yeah, i figured you could just pull up the archived webpages. Though i'm surprised that no website snapshots each patch directly with the win rates of the champions, it seems champion GG does track some of that info, but doesn't give access to it.

Basically, his win rate wasn't insane before the rework, which seems to normally be the big "are they balanced" point for people... idk why because it means very little, but i digress. He had about 52-53% win rate pre-rework, now he has about a 50% win rate, yet according to these numbers, his play rate has actually dropped from around 5% to about 4.25% over the past 5 patches (6.11-6.15).

Though despite this numbers people still complain about him. It's almost as if win rate is less important than fun gameplay experiences.

I mean, i blatantly think it was a terrible rework, but the fact that the changes made him less fun to play as (imo) or against (pretty much everyone's), just makes me question what their goal initially was. So clarity on the words which are more jargon than the literal definitions is need.

Maybe in terms of action?

Malzahar is inherently low action, and is historically balanced in a way that means he forces similarly low action situations upon opponents. (i.e. Enemy stares at you for 2.5 seconds)

Probably a statement that all he thinks Malzahar was back then was a walking suppression like most people did.

Malzahar's QWE spells were basically mini ults on lower cooldowns pre-rework, but people only thought the suppression was important.

Sad.

Don't know why he wanted to confuse people but w/e
