MMR / ELO "CAP" in matchmaking

I want to suggest an MMR cap for when teams are "evened" out.

The differences in MMR/ELO should always be between 1-50, or 1-100

So a player with 1500 MMR --> should never have someone below 1450 in his game, or above 1550.

Right now, there are huge skill cap differences, making games a bit one sided.

As you guys play your ranked games, I want you to post a few numbers you've seen of players in your team. (I suggest lolking for now)

Just so we can see the huge gaps between team balancing

Riot has shown that they care nothing about their matchmaking system. They clearly think its great and working as intended. We have had like one change in how it works in years: people separated too far by tiers cannot duo que in ranked. Other than that, there have been no changes.

The funny part is even that change is kinda messed up because its based on your LP level (ie your tier) instead of your MMR which is the only stat that really matters.

Sites like LoLKing literally make up "MMR" numbers out of thin air, based on other stats they can get from Riot's data APIs and/or their own totally arbitrary criteria.

Unless there are duo queues of significantly different MMR it's unusual to have much more than a +/- 1 division spread in a Ranked match, which is usually +/- 50-100 MMR.

Outside of duos (and Challenger), the MMR difference between players on the same team is already +/- 50, and generally much lower.

Lolking score and Divisions are not an accurate representation of MMR.
