Idea for a small change to Gnar

Gnar hasn't been touched in quite a while, but he is in a pretty decent place as of now. His kit is incredibly overloaded, so I was thinking of a way to make his kit slightly less overloaded. His jump gives him an attack speed steroid, which he honestly doesn't need to have. I think this attack speed steroid should be removed from his kit and he should be compensated in stats, possibly in attack speed growth for Mini Gnar. I know Riot probably won't touch him because he is pretty solid overall and he is a counter to the Juggernauts, but something simple like this would be nice to see.

You posted this before. I remember reading this exact post a while ago.

Stop it, you're not getting it.

The as speed increase isn't that big of a deal. If he uses his jump, he gets the as. Well, there's a trade-off, you either used it to escape, and well, guess what, you can't abuse that as increase, or you used it offensively, in which case you have no escape.

The attack speed buff needs to stay because it's a decision point to use his E offensively or defensively. Pushing a tower or fighting a duel is a good use for using E offensively. You can't really make much of the attack speed if you are only running away.

His E can already be used offensively to reposition and deals a significant amount of damage in Mega Gnar. Not to mention it also applies marks for the Hyper passive in Mini Gnar.

His E to transform is so telegraphed that there is no excuse for getting by caught it, unless it's late game where he gains rage really fucking fast. He doesn't get bonus attack speed in his transformed state either if he uses E to transform.

The Hyper passive mark application usage is so infrequent that it can hardly be called a part of his power budget.

Mainly his E comes down to 3 things: 1.) If you want to transform-engage on an opponent who is clearly not paying attention to your bar. 2.) If you want to engage on someone while mini, then great! Use your escape tool for some offensive reward! 3.) If you want to escape from a gank.

It's cooldown is also pretty high. The amount of times that I've used it to push a tower and fear that an enemy was lying in wait for me to use it, is too damn high.

Based on LCS play. Gnar seems to be in a really good spot. Not dominant, but a particularly good counter to Darius.

Gnar is interesting to say the least, since he has a lot of poke and Dueling power for a tank. And Trades reliability in his Tanking properties. (health, CC, etc,) And that trade off makes him pretty balanced, regardless of whether you view his kit as Overloaded. (though having more things in his kit, can some what make him less finicky I suppose.)
