Does Riot not realize Stormrazor is One stop shop for Yasuo?

........ Or do they and just not care?

[NEW ITEM] Stormrazor Recipe: [B.F. Sword + Pickaxe + Dagger + 925 gold] Total Cost: 3400g +65 Attack Damage +25% Attack Speed UNIQUE Passive: If you haven't attacked in the last 2.5 seconds, your next basic attack will critically strike. UNIQUE Passive: When you critically strike, gain 25% attack speed and 8% movement speed for 1.5 seconds.

In other words, it's got everything Yasuo needs in a single item......

No longer needs to rush Zeal. Can start off this, and then get Zeal, Snowball even sooner.

It has everything.....but crit chance. He would arguably do more damage with just phantom dancer which costs less. How is this item ever going to help Yasuo? It gets consumed on Q1 meaning you can't even use it on an all-in with your ultimate REALLY unless you hold the tornado for almost the entire duration of the buff at which point it SHOULDN'T hit someone and after that all you have is a glorified B.F. Sword and like 2 daggers. Charging Q on minions? Now you don't have the crit.

The item will probably be good....4th item. After PD+IE+BT/BotRK. Rushing the item is arguably trolling and you are better off getting a Bloodthirster at that point since it has a usable passive and about the same stats. Also, the item would only be used at that point for the 85% permanent movement speed while being attached to 65 AD since yasuo would already be near his Q attack speed cap.

It gives him move speed/attack speed which are more important, as well as first item AD. Move speed pulls down his E cooldowns, Attack speed reduces his Q cooldown and strike speed.

On AD, he gains 100% - 150% AD quotient to Q, Bonus AD to Ult, and 20% Bonus AD to E.

His timings also go perfectly with Stormrazor's passive. (E doesn't count as an attack)

In other words, it's a better first item, because it 100% of the time adds 65-100 damage to his strikes, and the first hits crit. Phantom Dancer only puts that damage up 1/3 of the time, and Yas's first Q will crit, so it's actually going to create first hit 400 damage strikes as a first item.

400 Crits that early in the game are going to be far more snowbally.

It also couples perfectly with his Ult, because early game, will gain strikes with 50% Armor Penetration, when Stormrazor procs.

You also need to realize: Once Yasuo has high crit rates, the SECOND passive will always proc (in others, it makes it far easier for Yas to cap out his Q and E cooldown enhancements, because they will always be active......

He's literally going to be 2.5 attack speed, move faster, stronger, and crit earlier in the game.

It's the only possible saving grace for him considering that on live he reaches 100% crit chance with 2 items and is balanced around getting the IE increased crit dmg. With the changes he will reach 100% crit chance with the same items but he won't get the crit dmg, and the true dmg is barely useful to him because when he ults he already gets 50% armor pen.

So if Stormrazor rush doesn't work well on him, he'll just be garbage because the IE + PD power spike has been gutted for him.

Azadethe2 votes

Once he has 100% crit the second passive will be active the entire game. 8% move speed and 25% Attack speed boost every time he crits.

P.S. How is IE gutted? It makes 2 items = 60% Crit rate instead of 50%, 10 more AD, and some of the damage is unmitigateable? That's a buff, even if it loses the crit damage boost (which got reduced by armor) The True damage, Crit doubling, and AD are ALL buffs at 2 items.

3 items = 100% Crit.

Adcs can literally now get 180% Crit rate, which is interesting..... on champs who scale to crit rate, like Jhin Caitlyn .... Caitlyn will literally 1 shot people, because her headshots will add 180% increased damage. (instead of the 125% she's been getting with IE, and it's going to be 20% True damage. aka..... her Headshots are going to do 4000 damage with 800 of that being True damage.....)

If you think that's a nerf........

Khristophoros2 votes

It's gutted for Yasuo, but not for any other champs.

Yasuo already has 50% armor pen when he ults so losing the 50% crit dmg and getting 20% true damage is a really bad trade for him.

Azadethe1 votes

You do realize with just item 3031 +item 3086 Yas has almost more crit than he did with Phantom Dancer? Once he has a complete second item he has MORE crit.

Khristophoros2 votes

What? It's the same at all points for Yasuo. The only difference is he loses the IE crit dmg for a passive he makes much worse use of.

Live: IE + Zeal = 80% crit IE + PD = 100% crit

After changes: IE + Zeal = 80% crit IE + PD = 100% crit

:|

What are you talking about bro?

Azadethe1 votes

lol forgot about Yas doubling crit rate.

But..... he still gets crit rate quicker if he goes item 3031 > item 3086 before going item 3046 > item 1038

Currently players are rushing item 3046 , which would be counterproductive vs the change.

And.... You kind of need to realize.... True damage 20% well makes up for that loss of crit damage, and it's also got 10 more AD....

Khristophoros2 votes

Here is the major issue: For Yasuo the 20% true damage does not make up for the crit damage because of his 50% armor pen from his ult. When you already penetrate 50% of armor then only half of your damage benefits from the 20% true dmg. So it's half as effective for him compared to other champs. He depends more on the IE crit dmg because of this.

You need to break down the order of damage.

Suppose Yasuo has 350 AD.

Suppose the target has 150 Armor. That's 60% Damage reduction.

On Yasuo's Ult, it's ~ 43% Damage reduction.

On old build, that was a ~ 452 hit on Q. (Assuming you don't have a item 3036 )

New build with new IE:

144 True damage, 328.22 AD.

Net: 472.22

That's actually a slight damage increase.

Yasuo's main targets aren't tanks. He has the target access and mobility to basically ignore them. This is a huge nerf to him unless he's against a team full of tanks.

Azadethe1 votes

I just illustrated a 150 Armor target. which is common among adc and mages.

For example, Miss Fortune with item 3026 and item 3047 has close to 150 Armor.

You're also ridiculous if you're trying to argue Yasuo doesn't target tanks, and obliterate them:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2k5NsS8Uy0 (He even has a bug that in this video occurs when Yas was ulted by Ornn, where he completely ignored being Airborne)

Yasuo has never been "Balanced"

Damn. Now Yasuo only has to feed 0/3 before he starts winning instead of 0/5

100% chance on a single auto.

The rest of his autos will be 0%.

Azadethe1 votes

Only until his second purchase..... item 3086

And the first crit will be LARGER, since it has AD.

Yasuo has never been strong until his second item. And the cooldown on the Crit hit on Stormrazor is only 2.5 Seconds. Q starts off at a 4 second cooldown, and none of the rest of his kit is an "attack." In other words, when it matters, the "Crit" will always be up, until he actually has a crit item.

His best build order is going to be Stormrazor > item 3046 > item 3031 > item 3087 > item 3072 . Which puts him at about 350 AD, 120% Crit, 140% Attack speed bonus, 33% Move speed bonus.

PhDs Nuts2 votes

Yasuo is probably the worst AD champion to rush this item on, lol.

Azadethe1 votes

He's really not. Although item 3031 will probably take priority, This as a first item = an instant 400-440 damage burst hit at very low levels with his Q, and the followup E's and Q would be affected drastically by attack speed and move speed, which gives cost effective skill resets. It gives more utility than a Phantom dancer, and gets you to a large hit faster than item 3031 does.

Try it on PBE.

Yasuo gets one save crit with reduced damage thanks to his own passive and than can attack faster without critting util he stops attacking you for the next 2.5 secs.

Yasuo is not good when critting, he is good, because he can crit a lot with few items.

Azadethe1 votes

No. He's good because Attack speed and move speed make his auto attack and skill spam almost URF status. He can auto attack 3 times within 1 second with only 50% attack speed bonus.

Furthermore, he's good because item 3072 prioritizes over his OWN massive shield. If he's full health, he has 2 shields, one of which rarely ever gets eaten, protecting another much larger shield. I literally just tested it vs a Baron. I took 0 Damage the entire baron, because BT's Shield prevented Yasuo's Shield from even getting hit more than Twice the entire solo.

^ This is why Yasuo 1v1 almost never works late game, because he can eat a ton of solo damage. You need a team to eat the shield and then chip into his HP.

The Crit is actually the weakest attribute of the kit, BECAUSE of the fact the crit damage gets nerfed up to 25% That meant..... IE's crit damage bonus was reduced, as well as some of his base AD (keep in mind that crit reduction math reduces the overall damage, not just the BONUS crit damage. So if he has 400 AD, you're basically going 300 AD critting normally damage. On the other hand, if it didn't crit, the damage would be a flat 500, which in many cases is about 60% of the actual crit's damage.

Not saying Crit is BAD; It's good because it's on the same items as attack speed and move speed. But if the same "crit" items were changed into "lethality" items with the same attack speed/move speed, they would be just as effective.
