They all take it first item and do true damage basically.

If it's available to everyone on the PBE, it might just be for testing purposes. If it's an Ornn Masterwork item, nobody can get it until he's level 11+ after his passive update goes live.

ModKnightsKemplar4 votesI don't think that would be a wise way to leave it. Probably, Ornn should be able to give assassins at least one item that they would like.
Now, if you wanted that item to be Edge of Night, so they might rush something that's a more balanced item, I have no issue with that. But it should be something that an assassin can make use of.

a) I think it's supposed to be for fighters. Assassins really should prefer edge of night in a world where everything is truly balanced, imo and
b) cleaver is not really a meta item on pyke, in particular. Especially now that he has actual lethality scaling. If I put off my lethality items so that ornn an give me a souped up item that is otherwise inefficient for me, that's not great from a design perspective. You don't want to put the burden of thinking about Ornn's passive that hard onto his team. That's part of the reason that they are adding Wraithblade.
Hotarµ2 votesAs Ice Weasel X said, it isn't a permanent item. It's a niche one that teammates of Ornn can buy. When you're level 11, rushing a Duskblade/Maw/Mercs/GA would still be better than upgrading one item.
Sure, Ornn is going to be strong but you will not see it 100% of the time. Probably not even 50% of the time.
