...Dominion

As a veteran dominion player, i have to say that i'm incredible disapointed by 'Definitly not Dominion'

Definitly not dominion is far to true to it's name, as it's definitly NOT dominion. It's far more fastpaced, insanely snowbally and with next to no tactic/strategie, and the balance is far worse than it ever has been on old domninion, and it surely wasn't great on old dominion already. It's all about the first ~2 min and than it's gg. If one team gets 2 of the 3 objectives early on, it already has won unless they have an afk or play significantly worse than there opponents, or they didn't pick broken shit and their opponents did. It's nearly impossible to regain mapcontroll once your opponents have the top point and either the buff or a super minion, as regaining one of those susally means your opponents can get both others, and with minion+buff, it is easy to capture the point again. Nearly all game i played did end with a more than 100 point lead, often even with 300-400...

Haveing dominion taken and replaced with the rotating que already hurt a bit, but seeing this mode just feels like mockery to me.

The vision deep into the Jungle adds to the snowballing, since the winning team will have a much easier time locking the enemy team into their base and zoning out the objectives.

There needs to be some kind of objective in the middle of bottom lane. Preferably, the bottom objectives should be tuned toward breaking the grip of a team camping top.

The mode, as it is right now, is deeply flawed. Perhaps it could be salvaged with some adjustments, but right now it's a mess. The low respawn timers means that having a solid kill lead might not mean much, while the removal of bot lane reduces the number of interesting choices you can make in the map.

I actually like Ascension better than this... At least Ascension is honest about being basically team death match with some objectives thrown in.

And yet in the two weekends it's been out, it's been played more than the last few months of Dominion. I probably have 500-something Dominion wins between the different servers, but I certainly prefer DND.

Agree 100%. Didn't really play old Dominion though, but just from reading about what it used to be I can see they made some huge mistakes. You're even being generous with the "first two minutes" thing. In my experience the team that just runs straight to the "top" point and caps will win the game. Sure, you can go get a big minion or try to capture their home point, but the minions mean nothing if you can't back them up and there's no way you're taking a home point.

There is next to no counterplay once and ass whoopin' has already started.

The way I see it is Riot had a huge misunderstanding of how Dominion used to be played and how it is now. The new objectives are cool, but removing bot-lane objectives just seems really weird. They worded it as "an eternal 1v1", but that's not what it was at all. Now with bot-lane not existing and losing 2 points on the map, that actually makes splitting weaker and takes away strategy rather than adding it. This could be solved by just making the map larger (as in distance between points), bringing back bottom lane, or both. Also just nitpicking here, but the gigantic point bars on top take up a pretty big portion of the screen and are pretty obnoxious even with unlocked camera.

What else did you expect by hearing its name?

This is a rework and a different mode. And in my opinion it FIXES many issues with the old Dominion.

dued i had a huge comeback win we were down 98-325 and won the game 92-0. I like it cause there is so many objective and it is so fast paced

To be frank: nobody cares. Everyone except the Dominion weirdoes is playing more Dominion this weekend than they have in the entire history of their accounts.

They can bring back dominion, but graves can't have a cigar?

LadyRenly5/29/2016, 4:30:43 AM1 votes

its so easy to come back tho

until the points hit 0, you never know who could win. this mode is 1000x less snowbally than SR. death timers are too short to make kills relevant and the gold gain helps with staying in the game.

my only problem is that i find it hard to keep up sometimes, especially if an opponent has a rammus or quinn

@thread

"It's far more fastpaced, insanely snowbally and with next to no tactic/strategie, and the balance is far worse than it ever has been on old domninion," Its actually got a much higher depth of strategy and is MUCH less snowbally than the original dominion. Yes it is more fast paced, but theres a lot more strategy and its possible to come back from 1 point. literally, one point.

Heres how points work: If you have more capture points than your enemy, they lose 1 point per tick. You also lose points when an ally or hyper minion is killed.

Heres how strategy works:

  1. Back cappers. If you have one or more high mobility champions (shaco, janna, twitch, sona, etc) they can back cap while the remaining four fight over the middle tower. by the time they realize theyre losing and what youre doing, no one has an advantage.

  2. Split push. Two of you split between middle and enemy points, drawing the kill-hungry enemies and letting your allies safely fight/farm.

  3. the five man centerfold. Everyone top, everyone kill, mundo go where mundo pleases.

I don't like, that only tanks and champion who can kill tanks matter in this mode. Everyone else gets steamrolled by tanks.

If you disagree with me, then you obviously haven't faced 4-5 tanks team yet.
