Imagine a marksman with a high skillcap who doesn't rely on Basic Attacks or Critical Strike

Every champion relies on right clicking to an extent.

I know we here at gameplay love to hate on champions but we can be smarter with our hate.

I just want to say that playing ADC is actually not that easy. Sure playing riven is probably going to be harder mechanically, but when the game is on you and if you die once in the late game you lost your team the game, it becomes very frustratingly hard. Also, kalista is a high skill cap adc, she does somewhat rely on crits with hurricane but most kalistas I see go high lifesteal and some don't go . If there was an adc that didn't rly on basic attacks at all, they would most likely go mid lane as they have in the past (ezreal, lethality varus). I think the Only adc that was only bot, either adc or sup that didn't rely on basic attacks was mf.

We do have a few Marksmen that don't need to have crit to be effective, so that part isn't hard to imagine. We do already have AD caster Marksmen that do a very significant portion of their damage from abilities, so that part isn't very difficult to imagine either.

We'll never have a Marksman that doesn't rely on basic attacks at all simply because AD innately works with basic attacks, so unless we get an AD caster with a super spammy Q or something I don't think it can happen.

I guess the closest we'll be getting is Azir. He is classified as a Marksman, doesn't use crit, and technically doesn't directly use basic attacks.

if anyone has doubts about which class is riots favourite, then just keep in mind they released the third hextech skin for them.

this was a business decision. the only reason this would happen is because marksmen mains blow the most money on the game. they also seem to be the most zealous when theyre not on top of the game. at least ive never heared of anyone else sending death threats to rioters because his favourite class is weak. people might complain, but ive never seen it go as far as it went when bot lane ziggs was viable and people tried to play other non marksmen picks down there.
