this is the relevant stat. you want to deal with ap assassins, well there you go. Health and a solid amount of MR "defensive" stats...thats how you deal with an assassin...build resistance. so what exactly is it that you guys are looking for?

You lose a fuck load more damage with the reworked Abyssal compared to live Abyssal because of the 40 AP.
Abyssal right now is good because it gives some survivability while also giving a decent amount of damage. The reworks make it good decent survivability with some damage, the opposite of live, and not good for anyone but AP tanks to build.

This is about its viability as a first build item.
Also, not everyone can get away with building Rylai's and Liandries, so that would be a fucking garbage build on a lot of champions.

The one thing in this game that there is an abundance of, its AP+Resistance combo items...and now you're trying to convince everybody that there isnt enough, we need another one, and further more it has to be high damage, high resistance and low cost..you know cuz first item power spike needs to happen fast so better make it less than 2700 for damn sure...if you cant find a decent starting ap item, you need to play a different game.
Durzaka1 votesThe item is fine as it is now is the point. It isnt brokenly strong, it isnt a must rush item, it has its niche generally being built against AP assassins so you dont get deleted for a single misstep.

It's less viable on mages like Diana and Ahri because it gives less AP and you don't stay around enemy champions long enough to benefit from the AoE shred. Thus, we need an item to replace it after it gets changed, which was my point with this thread.
tl;dr: "You changed this from an AP mage to an AP bruiser/tank item, now give a new AP mage item"
