@meddler: so whats going on with the new fighter items?

youve taken some extra time to test item 3005 item 3161 in the new game mode. they were delayed until preseason, since you felt that the state of the game was too chaotic at the time to make further additions to the game, during midseason.

ive noticed they havent been part of the preseason patch on the PBE so far. are you still planning on adding them to summoners rift?

what about adding them to the howling abyss aswell?

Yeah, Shojin could be a part of an AD Garen build, since it gives defense from AD. There aren't many items that give AD, HP. and CDR - stats that Garen wants. It might not be better than Cleaver, but it's better than Stormrazor. (And actually, pre-mitigation damage reduction from every attack of 26+...) I was thinking that it would stack well with new Steraks.

Atmas looks like it would be difficult for Garen to use well, since Garen tends to prefer short trades, and Atmas takes a few seconds to stack. If you were looking for a "Health Garen" build, Titanic would still be the better item.

The way that Riot has been moving the Runes around in their rows... what was once presented as logical, has shown itself to be arbitrary in the end anyway. The runes aren't particularly arranged in any sequence of power or conflict. They should just say here: Pick a Keystone and any three, and done with it. I don't see any two runes currently in the same row that are broken if taken together. Actually, the runes that would stack, tend to be in different rows anyway.

Unflinching wasn't nerfed when they moved it down, and Bone Plating isn't getting nerfed by going down in position either.

Tanks with Shields now get to take Bone Plating AND get Stronger Shields.

riot hates juggernauts so we aren't gonna get atmas even though it's far healthier than Shojin

son of a bitch, that sucks. i dont understand whats the issue with the item. all it does is guarantee lategame scaling for juggers, just like marksman itemization multiplies on itself.

instead were getting a giants belt worth in health cut from midgame overgrowth and rune path health on top of losing boneplating for a rune that increases damage of tanks.

just awesome.

What are you complaining about? They're releasing the "Garen" item, and holding back the other one, that he can't even use effectively.

You'll be lucky to get Giant's Belt worth of health from Overgrowth, even by late game, currently.

On the other hand, they moved Bone Plating to the T3 replacing Chrysalis. Honestly, they did it backwards - they should have replaced Chrysalis with Shield Bash.

You shouldn't have to choose between Conditioning, Second Wind, and Bone Plating. The same champions, want all three - they should be a column. Font of Life, Revitalize, and Shield Bash (now that it increases shield strength %10) - should be another column. Logically. Demolish, Unflinching, and Overgrowth would be the other column.

he said theyre releasing shojin and not atmas. atmas is the one with the health to ad conversion and better on garen, darius, illaoi etc. and all the juggers who like to stack health.

shojin is the one that increases defense by stacking ad. this means its stronger on champions like Riven Fiora etc. who stack large amounts of flat ad in addition to the item.

i was hoping theyd release both items.

a) with this change it will be even less you will realistically never break 200 health with this new version even on someone like chogath. thats what im complaining about

b) im talking about overgrowth and health from runes combined. overgrowth regularly stacks to almost 250 health by 25 minutes for me. at least thats what the tooltip says, and what i can see other people get on stream aswell. youll easily lose half of its value by 25 minutes and more as the game goes on, since the 3 flat health stacks are significantly less for champions who actually build health.

a lot of champions get 6 health (garen, darius) to 9 health (cho, sion) around 30 minutes per stack from overgrowth currently.

with another cut to scaling health from runes, on a lategame build, its about a giants belt worth in health thats lost.

when i made this post, shield bash was entirely replacing boneplating. the fact that theyre trying to move runes around is a good sign, but there is still one generalistic rune in resolve 1 next to two extremely niche runes that only very few champions can utilize (font of life and shield bash). almost every resolve user is still defaulted to demolish in that row.
