I hate Zed Yasuo and Lee so much their mere presence makes me rage. How can I help this?

Strawberrycocoa··29 votes·4,105 views

I've been trying to pay more attention to what makes me salt in All Chat and I've noticed that the mere presence of energy assassins sets me off. They're aggravating to deal with and their mere presence makes me rage in All Chat anytime they get any sort of kill. I'd delete them all and have their designers fired if I could.

That aside, I really feel like it's not helping me to feel this way. Wishing doom and gloom upon all energy users isn't really helping anyone, and those characters are so popular that being aggravated by their mere presence is kind of a massive mental vulnerability. And to be honest, I'm tired of being laughed at by shitty twelve year olds whenever I complain about those characters. Seriously, fuck you twelve year olds. ;P

So, what's a good way to just... get over it and stop hating those characters so much that even just seeing them in lane makes me want to smash their player's tower to pieces so they never inflict Zed or Yasuo upon the world again?

Play Fizz or Blitzcrank. Make the salt go round, buddy. It always works.

play Gangplank against Yasuo and watch that piece of shit cry tbh.

you're welcome

As a yasuo main, GP is one of my easiest lanes. As long as you pay attention to barrels, you tend to outscale and outduel him

PogChampEleGiggl2 votes

I want to say that in gold V your average gangplank isn't playing properly

Spicy Rice5 votes

True, but im not playing yasuo to his max potential either (i think)

Leblanc makes Yasuo need therapy. A lot of times, he cries for a gank because lb just shreds him. Only a very skilled Yasuo can read a lb, but more often than not our Yasuo feeds :(

I love how the moment GP gets a Sheen, Yasuo gets pimpslapped every other second and there's not much he can do about it. I usually hate Yasuo top for being a nuisance, but this lane is really entertaining.

Why wait until 6? Just use AD marks and start at lvl 1.

You may be having difficulties against them because you are playing against them incorrectly.

Countering Yasuo is easy, but it is also easy to get countered by him. Picking any of the following champions: Annie Diana Malzahar or Talon, should guarantee a victory against Yasuo in lane unless there is a huge skill discrepancy.

Generally, you should AVOID staying near your own minions when fighting Yasuo. AA him whenever his passive refreshes if you are ranged. As well, don't take damage for free. If he pokes you with a E, Q, AA combo, be sure to fight back. As long as you don't pick champions such as Ahri against Yasuo, you should be fine.

Zed is a bit more complicated. As much as I hate to say it, there are no absolute hard counters to him as there are to Yasuo. It is more dependent on each player's skill. Talon , Diana , and Chogath will have an easier time against Zed, but it is still possible to be out played. If you are confident in your abilities, you can also try taking Viktor against him.

There isn't much you can do about Lee since he is most likely in the Jungler. Just don't fight him early game; Lee Sin has insane base damage. Late game, Lee transitions to a tanky initiator for his team. If you can survive his early game, you should be fine. Just make sure he doesn't get to kick your ADC or tank.

If you are afraid of him counter jungling you, just ask your team to leash you red or blue first.

Yes you are right with not playing against him correctly but I see a number of flaws in your champion pool. The easiest way to counter yasuo is to just not have any projectiles in your kit or very few.

Annie is a good choice but you have to make sure your Q is saved for when hes stunned or no wind wall Diana struggles until she is able to one shot him which can be a rough game. Malz is by far the best choice you placed since none of his abilities are countered by yasuo. There are others such as Mordekaiser, xerath, and brand that are great counters since their major damage isnt based on projectiles (yes brands ult and Q are but his W and E provide enough kite that yasuo will cry) Talon however.... No there is no way talon will counter a good yasuo.

The advice in lane is pretty sound though.

Zed counter isn't complicated at all in theory, ensure you are near a support or an ally with a stun, make sure you get QSS, and you are pretty set, most kills on even games with zed are lost because the ult procs killing someone. Removing the ult from doing damage will prevent this. There are champions that do well vs Zed, like fizz and other champions who can lock him down or one shot him.

Other points to counter zed would be waiting till he uses his shadow offensively then engage when its on CD, vision and reacting correctly to what he does are also important points to counter zed. Also an important point of fighting zed is to abuse the lag time between him ulting and being able to go back to his shadow, the stuns/snares are so important at this time if you want to punish him. Talon again does not counter zed, in the end its just who ever is a better player, or whoever gets more lucky/aide in the fights early game.

As for lee you need to handle him a lot like zed, of course you cant QSS/flash the ult ( i think, maybe its possible). But a lot of fighting him is a few questions 1.) does he have wards nearby or in his sight stone? If so where will he try to dodge off too when he engages? 2.)has he used his q and/or w yet and what does this mean for me? 3.)Can I out damage him in a straight up fight? If I dodge one of his abilities can I fight him then? Can I out play him by baiting him (ex. cait netting away after his Q lands?

At this point bruisers are the ones who should be looking to fight him or if you catch him out then its a good fight. Making sure he cant get near any squishes is also super important. If you are the squishes, just like any other assassin stick to your support or tank like glue.

Correct about Yasuo.

There are hard counters to Zed. He can't do a god damned thing to Malzh/Cho'Gath if they're not awful. It's extremely hard to lane against Annie. Diana makes short work of him on even ground and at six her counter-roams can be terrifying. The biggest threat to a Zed, however, is torturing him for using his shadow in lane. Pick an aggro jungler (see: Lee Sin, Shaco, Nidalee...) and just light him up every time he uses his W to harass. That reduces his lane presence a lot since he'll be focused on playing safe.

Oh, and Fizz is fucking lame to play against as Zed. Just saying.

Lee Sin is very hit or miss. It's all on the player tbh; he can carry hard as hell. The solution to a Lee is to just pick a smart team comp, don't be stupid and pick binary dive or no safety carries, and play the lane phase so he can't autowin the enemy lanes. And if you make it to six with something like a Rengar (who at level 2 is way stronger than Lee Sin by the way, so if you invade him with red buff he's donezo but don't get invaded on since early invaders always win regardless) or Diana (who has the same benefit, that she can win level 2 if he sits in melee if she has red because her shield swings fights hard) then you can gank harder, better, faster and stronger than Lee Sin because invisibility or just pure ridiculous burst.

Step 4.) Go to the Boards in the US and watch the salt flow through them.

I think you'd really need to look into why you hate these champions so much in the first place. I can't say that they're really that much more frustrating than any other champ and really a lot of that is your perception of them. With the possible exception of lee who's an anomaly in League. Stop listening to the board's salty tears and think about good ways that you can play against their strengths. Focus on how you can play better against them and recognize that even if everything you believe is right, that skill trumps champion power and if you work hard you can triumph over these champions that frustrate you. Make it your goal to prove that your way of playing is righteous and deserves to make it.

Against Zed - If you see the enemy team pick Zed, try to avoid going mid. Honestly, the most rage-inducing moments from Zed specifically come during the laning phase. In team fights if he blows everything and kills you in three seconds, pft, whatever, any champ can do that these days.

If you already picked mid, offer a lane swap or swapping champions. If no one accepts, dodge. If you don't want to dodge, start Cloth Armor and 4 pots, and rush Seeker's Armguard. Try to farm from a distance to deny him early harass, then get a jungler to gank just before he hits 6 so you force him to back, giving you a chance to recall and fill your health and mana before he gets a chance to ult you.

Against Yasuo, pick a champion with significant wave clear. Malzahar, Ziggs, Zed, and keep the wave pushed from a distance. Stay away from your own minion wave. If you need to run from Yas, run through the river or jungle, not towards your tower.

Against Lee Sin, the easiest way to avoid rage is to never be in a position where you can be ganked. I don't mean ward, I don't mean only push up when your jungler is near by, I mean NEVER. Stay on your tower. Keep your CC ready when you're below half health. If he dives you, PUNISH him.

A Lee Sin who fails or feeds a gank falls behind fast. He has lots of tools, so your only option is to out play him.

Over Innsmouth2 votes

Vladimir is a dirty fucker who counters Yas and Zed in lane completely once you've become skilled enough with using him (particularly pool). There's no risk of being outscaled and the only person in the game with comparable, consistent sustain is Fiddlesticks.

For Yasuo, your basic abilities are all targeted so he can't dodge those. Q will still damage from behind Wind Wall (though you won't get your healing). Pool his Tornado. Pool his E and slow him under your tower or when an ally ganks. Yasuo doesnt get MRperlvl, so you'll continue to do more and more damage to him as you continue to get tankier from Crimson Pact. Rylai's makes kiting super easy as long as you stay away from minion waves for him to dash to.

Zed on the other hand works differently, but once you get tanky enough from passive and general item build (SV and Zhonyas make you very bulky on their own) he can't kill you, since unlike Yasuo's high-level consistent damage Zed is entirely burst. Laning will be tough, but that's a thing you'll have to get used to against almost everyone if you're playing Vlad. Save pool for his ult and negate a tonne of his combo damage. Get Zhonyas after your core (WotA and Lucidity Boots) and laugh some more as you now have two sources of untargetability.

Playing against Lee is a little bit closer to playing against Zed, as Lee's pattern is more bursty than consistent. Once you become sufficiently tanky, Lee won't be able to kill you. And as you hit the threshold of mid-lategame Vladimir, you'll see him use his R (Or as I call it, League's Ultimate Bitch Move) to kick you away once he starts losing fights.

Hope this helps!

Yas and Zed have incredible good early game, while Vlad is not. Vlad needs safe early game or he'll be useless.

You're not meant to fight them during laning, just survive. Vlad outscales and his kit naturally defeats theirs.

dEAdbUs2 votes

You can say same about any late game champion, so they're all OP? It's hard a survive in a world where Lee will be 10-0 in 10 mins.

Over Innsmouth2 votes

Not every lategamer can do this, Vlad can because his kit is oriented towards countering Zed and Yasu. I never said Vlad was OP anyway, which is because of his early weakness and his match-up dependency, even in the lategame you won't be killing things that naturally counter you (I.E. Fiddlesticks).

Also, there's an art in playing lategame Champs, the art being in survival.

Lee is a bitch, I agree. And if he's jungling there's even less you can do to stop him getting fed compared to laning against Zed or Yasu, but you can at least draw the game out long enough for your lategame power to become relevant.

dEAdbUs1 votes

It depends on playes. I don't think that if Vlad's pool counters Zed's ult it means that Vlad instawins Zed.

Over Innsmouth1 votes

I agree, a good (or even half-decent) Zed can kill a Vlad who either misused Pool or can just kill Vlad with basic abilities. Zed hurts. But it's an option to the Vlad player that allows them to circumvent a tonne of Zed's damage.

RyzeRework1 votes

You only use pool pos 6 when zed goes to ult kinda like with fizz e if you can dodge his q it's easy if you get hit you can sustain up vlad doesn't have much kill pressure early unless the enemy just doesn't know wtf there doing

RyzeRework2 votes

Vlad kit counters yasuo and zed making their early game power useless. Vlad ignores yasuo wind wall and if either of them try to all in vlad he can just pool zed ult will cancel and yasuo will be left with nothing but death

dEAdbUs1 votes

Yeah, but that means nothing in early game while Vlad has long cds. Zed and Yasuo have all chances to use Vlad's early game weakness and snowball.

RyzeRework1 votes

Means nothing early game? Vlad has range sustain and if he gets all in he can pool away zed can't ult vlad and without yasuo sheild he has nothing on vlad

MagicDragon3002 votes

Just stop giving a shit. If some character you hate having any type of success pisses you off so fucking much that it makes you rage for everyone to hear, you have a serious problem. By raging you are doing jack shit and just making the game worse for everyone involved. Your team has to deal with you being mad all game, which is only going to make them follow suit. The opponent you are playing against isn't gonna be too happy either because that guy probably just wants to have some fun with a champ he likes and he has to sit there seeing some angry player berate him just because he dared lock in one of these three champs you just happen to hate. All the while as well, his teammates are probably just sitting there thinking something along the lines of "can this salty %%% in the chat just shut up already?" or just "I'm laughing my ass off right now". You are helping nobody by raging in chat and doing nothing but making a fool out of yourself in front of an audience of 9 other summoners. Once you've realized this, next time these champions trouble you, just take a deep breath and go over what you could've done to prevent your own death instead of just blaming it on the enemy being OP. The only way you'll ever get better at league is by correcting your own mistakes and focusing on your game exclusively, not the power level of what your enemy is playing. You'll find that the game will be much better for you and others if you just calm down and make a consistent effort to better yourself as a player rather than resorting to stupid external causes and getting yourself more pissed off than you need to be.

Totally hated Amumu jungle. Now he is my 2nd best Jungler.

dEAdbUs4 votes

Azir has low winrates too, but on proscene he's still one of best picks for midlane.

Ability to counter Zed's ult doesn't make champion counterpick to Zed. And doesn't make this champion useful .

Narasimha3 votes

Just to jump in, even in the proscene, Azir hasn't been a 'best pick' for a while. Outside of Fakker, no one can really pull him off anymore. Top picks these days are usually Malz, Liss, Annie, Ori, and Syndra. With a few swaps, but those are almost always near the top to my recollection.

RyzeRework1 votes

So if u pick lissandra that has aoe root slows a self heal ult or a intense stun she's going to be useless? Or kayle one of the strongest late game champions that has an ult that blocks all dmanage and cc thats useless? And azir hasn't been picked in a long time not even that much at worlds he was a little bit.
