Why can't I get shyvana to work in ranked (b5) but do good pretty damn in normals.

Some I'm at the bottom of the barrel in terms of rank. I've played shyvana since I started playing this game and she destroys low elo for the same reasons as yi. She may not get pentakills but she definitely fucks people's shit if if she gets ahead and she even has a gap closer unlike most bruisers. I've heard rageblade is good on her but I haven't tried it in ranked and I don't know if they still do it in Korea. My last game, I only died 1 time to the enemy and the other death was my first clear somehow. I don't know why I can't just do a full clear like I used to. You catch the enemy alone and then you kill them and take their shit. Kill dragon lvl 4 to get an early team advantage. Her biggest weakness is no cc and in turn bad ganks early. If you took ghost or exhaust, you can try to burn a flash but that's it. She can also still get kited like any other bruiser. That's why melee champions don't work in lol and DotA has the solution. It's turn time but riot won't put that I. The game since it will basically fuck with the meta. It takes time for your hero to turn but in lol, it's instant and why stutter stepping exists. What I've been noticing is I go into normals and I stomp and I go into ranked and get crushed. So is there a huge difference between even b5 and normals or am I doing something wrong.

Don't buy Rageblade unless you're a full duelist Shyv and are against another good duelist.

She's a juggernaut, so realize that.

And I didn't. Never tried that in ranked and I only do it for fun.

Ight, part two of that was realizing that you're a juggernaut and should play that way.

Her jg path is much different than it used to be thx to some changes but it's no big deal she still can clear the whole thing if you rly want to, just got to do so properly. However its better to do a 3 or 4 camp clear then go for a gank if there is one, always path toward where you wish to gank in terms of clearing.

Also melee champions do work in this game, they are harder as you go up the ranks but they do work nonetheless. Until your used to her i suggest using blue smite over red if your using it. helps with ganking further if your pathing needs work.

I almost always blue smite and I also exaust because of those pesky assasins and stronger deulists. Don't get me wrong. Shyvana is one of the best duelsits. Fighting xin Zhao is kind of a gamble. Sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. It's by a slim amount of HP. I also have hundreds of games on her. She's my most played. I put her down after pre season dropped and picked up k6 until they reworked her to actually work in S7 and everyone said shyvana needed a rework because her kits viability fading and started becoming an old yorick. Her kit has stood the test of time. I destroyed with sated devour because the Titanic damage was rediculous. I knew about it before the udyr and shyvana meta. Just like udyr, she could open the gates if she splitpushed. She can do it just as easily as udyr. Everyone just watched trick2G. The return of madreds bloodrazor and stated devour being deleted kind of fucked her. S7 was intended to kill farm jg's but shyvana and Yi have proven to be rebels in that regard.

Frozen Mallet is a fantastic buy on Shyvana still atm so I suggest giving it a try if u haven't already building it yields great results against slippery team comps while also providing lots of hp to refrain from being squishy. Red smite works best when using this item.

Also I'd take the advise from that mobafire guide above, personally I use lethality marks and not precision since I find just 2 less lethality and 9 less magic pen is worth going into fervor for the easy to get bonus damages that scale better into the late game as well.

I usually buy that and I have been using that guide for some time.

Normals MMR and ranked MMR are seperate, so it is possible your ranked MMR is higher than your normals MMR, which is why normals is easier for you.

I wouldn't take dragon at level 4 personally unless it is infernal, and even then it is sketchy. Yes, it gets your team that dragon but it puts you so far behind in terms of leveling and gold. It takes you so long to do it unless you have help from your bot and midlaners, which I'm guessing is not happening at level 4.

Standard build for Shyvana right now is Bloodrazor (Skirmishers)> BOTRK> Defensive boots> Spirit/Deadmans>Deadmans/Spirit> Titanic/situational

I'm not sure where you get "melee champions don't work in lol" Rengar is very strong, Kha'zix is up there, Warwick is deceptively strong, Hecarim is very strong in solo queue.

I usually do it at lvl 5 but I heard nb3 that she can do it lvl 4. And if on top of it, you can get your team 5 dragons not including elder. I usually use frozen mallet. It's a good item to stick to people. I build after Titanic which is my second item after the jg item. Also the reason meele champions don't really work is because if they have no way to get to you and your ranged, you can orb walk. In DotA not even drow ranger can stutter step. She has Ashe's old frost arrow q. Riot released irellea to make them work an it was a short term solution with long term issues and that's why she is getting a full vgu on the future. I didn't say they were weak. I forgot to say stutter stealing exists and it's a way to exploit their main weakness.

I know you can do it early, I'm saying it probably isn't the best idea to do it. It gets you behind in levels and gold.

Melee champions do work. If they didn't, they wouldn't be meta. Rengar/Khazix are very strong and are melee. Meta tanks in toplane are all melee. Talon is pretty strong and is melee. Sure, kiting them is counterplay to them but they usually have gapclosers and have better stats to compensate.

Quepha

It looks like you're generally matched with bronze 5 caliber players in normals, too.

Although I was matched with mid to high bronze players in a recent game that I did good in but we threw out lead.
