In your opinion, what was the patch or group of patches that started League going downhill and why?
Just curious.
Also, try to be calm and concise while still articulating your point (there's enough bullshit to wade through in these Boards already).

5.16 the Juggernaut patch is when it started.

i was gonna say anything going into season 6

Especially when they deleted solo queue the entire season, and did their damn best to keep solo queue dead cause they know no one will play dynamic queue afterwards.
The juggernaut patch was the evilest of patches.

I agree here, this is when Ghostcrawler started to have a say in League of Legends balancing, I am pretty sure if Morello came back to balance the game we would see shit fixed pretty fast.
I don't think ghostcrawler is the only one to blame. See what has been happening after he left for reference.
literally what was i going to say as well.
the second that patch with darius/skarner/and garen came out, thats when the game started going straight down in terms of balance and interactivity.
PTSD flashbacks to Mord dragons every game shudders
or skarner infinite mana in jungle legit 2 levels on everyone and ms boosts out the ass.
The patch in season 6 where Zac got to like a 56%+ win rate and instead of nerfing him they just started buffing things until he slowly dropped to a normal win rate. I really think that was the first time that this whole “fight fire with fire” balancing style started to become riot’s primary style.
Unpopular opinion: game never went downhill (at least for me). Personally i think game is at the best state ever. Why? Because finally every role can carry and have a realistic impact. Current game is much better than s7 and patch 8.1-8.10, because the "better bot wins" meta is finally gone.
But if i would have to complain, the worst patch ever was then they buffed or reduced cost of zeal items in s7. Not sure when, but it happened for sure.
That’s a valid answer.
Downhill? Elaborate?
The season 7 jg changes.
It also hurts when the items on the store are changed to prevent certain champions to abuse certain buildpaths.
That, can fk up your early laning phase (for other champs on other roles) which is one of the weak points of the current snowball meta and the botlane champion pool detriment or the mages arise.
The marksman class reworks.
This was also when the adc items got buffed super hard, RFC was added, etc.
Whatever patch was the juggernaut update.
For me it was beginning of season 7 when it went realy downhill. I still had alot of fun in season 6, sure they messed up earlier with something like juggernaut patch and shit like that but it wasn't that bad that I was hoping that another moba will arrive so I could switch this feeling just come with season 7.
the patch that Runes Reforged was installed in. The game wouldn't be such a snowball fest if this stupid thing was here.
7.22
Mymu (mid year mage update): It was the first big thing that massively took power from a late game class and placed it onto early /mid game. A mage with athene wouldn't be able to one shot you, a mage with reworked morello started to do it. Total AP gained was lowered for a full build but mages would reach their powespykes sooner
