If Ascension ever returns, it could possibly use these Balance adjustments
I'm a long time Dominion player and has played Ascension whenever it was up, sinking in 5000+ games. I'm well aware that Ascension/Dominion probably won't ever return as its hated by Riot and their mission to make it to its neglect of over a year and the lack of discussion of the gamemode. I even made a comment in a QGT on Ascension but I was ignored by Meddler. It makes me sad of how Rioters can give such cold treatment.
But anyways, here is my pitch on adjustments for Ascension:
Bans
- Increased to 10 bans and each person can choose their own ban.
This is to bring Ascension up to date and reduce significant frustration in the banning phase (and in the proceeding game). There was countless times where the Team Captain would be selfish (i.e. not banning Sona/Teemo) or outright ignore teammates requests for specific bans (i.e. banning champs no one played) and then the game became an instant loss due to the Captain's ignorance.
Crystal Scar Aura
- Summoner spell cooldowns reduced by 40%
- Reduces all outgoing heals and shields by 50%. The reduction does not affect self-heals and self-shields.
As the game progressed, teams were often hard stuck on whether to engage due to long cooldowns of SS. Lowering Summoner Spell cooldowns will allow the opportunity to engage in more teamfights.
Additionally, reducing outgoing heals and shields will punish support heavy teams that become nearly unkillable via having 2-3 supports and being relatively tanky while providing strong shielding and heals.
Ascension Buff
- All Self and Incoming Shielding, healing, and regeneration effects are reduced by 50%
This change would balance out cases where certain champions (i.e. Skarner/Sona) become Ascended and can't be killed once it reaches a certain timeframe of the match.
