The PBE changes will nerf tanks, not help them.
For those who don't know what I'm talking about. Also, the official post on NA explaining their direction.
These changes to "mid-season durability" will only make things worse:
- Every champion that didn't have MR growth now does.
- Legitimate tanks aren't getting any more base MR.
- The difference between a tank's base MR and a squishy's base MR will now shrink.
- "Shifting" durability from health to resistances.
- It's so much easier to counter resistances than it is to counter health.
- %HP damage is only available from two items, and both are usually ineffective.
- Let's not forget that few champions consider them an optimal core, and even fewer use them situationally.
- The one other item that scales off of enemy HP also has high bonus armor penetration.
- It provides less total durability. Here are a few tank tops with Sunfire Cape at Lv6 (masteries and runes not included):
- Malphite: 0.33% less physical health & 5.24% less magical health.
- Dr. Mundo: 0.26% less physical health & 5.23% less magical health.
- Poppy: 0.11% less physical health & 5.37% less magical health.
- The go-to carry defense items are now bruiser items.
- GA is now Armor and AD. Good fucking luck trying to justify this when literally every AD champion builds it.
- Banshee's Veil is now MR, **AP **and CDR. They also reduced the Spell Shield CD to a minimum of 8 seconds.
- Current Tank items are getting nerfed.
- Randuin's Omen down the trash chute.
- Sunfire Cape's passive getting gutted.
At least the new items compensate the loss of Banshee's Veil and Guardian Angel for tanks.
. It honestly feels like this whole Midseason was designed to just buff ADCs. I'm not entirely saying that them getting buffed overall is a bad thing or anything like that, but that out of all the classes, I feel that ADCs benefit almost the most out of all these changes.
's burn and probably with the 3 big reworks in the class update, tank damage overall will be lowered (Which we all heard was generally going to happen, but still).
