Riot does a lot things wrong in their large scale reworks, but theres one thing theyre great at.

Making champions function best in a duo lane. I swear with the amount of supports that are just blegh or clunky to play, riot does an amazing job of making top laners and mid laners unable to function properly alone.

So.... Kudos to whoever it is making these solo-lane champions much, much, much more effective in duo lanes. Can you work on supports? Braum and leona could use some love in the damage department...

"Large scale reworks"

Roster updates are not large scale reworks.

Fair enough. I just woke up though ;-;

But was maokai and malzahar not a large scale rework? pretty sure it was.

I don't consider roster reworks to be large scale. Large scale is full VGU

VGUs are essentially relaunches. Larger scale reworks are more... "Entirely new abilities for half the kit", i feel.

ya know, I 1st made it to gold on leonas back. Nowadays I just don't see myself picking her when I can pick Alistar . I mean, he isn't reliant on gargoyles when engaging due to his sexy ult of his. His knock ups and knock backs, and stuns are all much easier to land. His passive is great... I dunno, I can keep going on and on.

With how much mobility there is, I really think leonas ult could use a small buff, like the center of it being bigger, or the whole thing being bigger, or the outside slow could slow for more. Something reasonable though, not an outrageous buff like we see riot doing all the time.

Im not very good, but braum was my bread and butter during my first ranked season (last season ;-;). But... I cant play him unless its into very specific enemy bot lanes. I cant say for leona because im still learning her but braum.... Braums Q NEEDS to pass through minions for him to be viable in an early damage dominated meta. Hes melee, and not safe enough to survive on his current merits.

As someone who considers himself a Leona main, I don't really think she needs more damage. Her job is to get in a targets face and lock them down long enough for them to be shredded by her carry.

I like this idea, since it is becoming increasingly difficult to land the full stun off of Leona's Ult due to the increased mobility creep. She's an immobile tank who is dependent on their target making a misstep to pull off her combo, or barring that, landing the ult to set them up long enough for her to make the dive. Sure there are move speed items that make this easier, but on a support's income it can be pretty long before she gets any major items built.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but i believe every champion is entitled to being capable of solo laning. With the 1/1/1/2 meta, that means that champions like leona, braum, and shen should have some form of waveclear.

If leona could pop her own passive on minions.... that would be fantastic. It would give her a small bit of help solo laning without breaking her as a support. As for my suggested braum change, hes just out classed by everyone else at this point.

Large scale reworks seem to be loved by everyone but the people who main the champ.

And thats why alot of reworks go through and don't get reverted. The rework should just improve on a champs playstyle that they have while keeping the same fantasy. You cant just choose 1 you need both. Most of the time they change the playstyle and hide it by only talking about the fantasy that they liked so new players play it and enjoy it while the mains of the old champs are out of a main.
