League Logic example 1

Recently I encountered a very strange player in a ranked game, here is what happened.

Zed Vs Fiora mid lane

Zed: Fiora mid lane?

3 minutes later

Fiora: First Blood!

Zed: Wow what a try hard

2 minutes later

Zed has been Slain

Zed: wow, this guy is such a f***ing try hard, I'm afk, bye

Zed has left the game

It's a ranked game, are people not suppose to try hard?

dont try to use logic with these idiots, it just confuses them. on the upside, you get a free win.

OP lost. Props to OP for not using that fact to get additional support. Shows that he's/she's not a whiner.

EDIT: Does someone not believe me or what? This is a ranked game that you can find on Match History.

Because in ranked you're supposed to let the enemy team win lol. Zed was a dumbass

But he did let the enemy team win. He left the game, remember?

Yesterday I've met a Zed that lost mid to Bard.

Mid-laning against a riven as veigar before ive felt that same feel as zed, but you can't let yourself get tilted and quit.

Zed has so many advantages over Fiora in lane. He I can feel the damaged pride trough the text. XD

people who are befuddled by midlane picks aren't really mid mains

Personally I see any solo laner as any solo laner. If champ X is good against champ y, it shouldn't matter what lane their in. And if you can play champ X top, you should be able to play them mid.

The only time that becomes an issue is when trying to draft a comp. (If you go Fiora mid, will your team have enough magic damage? do you need magic damage?) But half the time, the team doesn't really pay attention to comp, and people simply chose champs they want to play. (at least at my level anyway)

Some will argue that you miss out if you don't play a champ that some how synergizes with the mid lane. (Speaking in terms of map pressure) But other wise, mid lane is pretty much the same as top lane. Solo farm, solo XP.

well here's the thing..

there is absolutely a difference between playing garen top and garen bot.

If the adcs and supports go top and garen is up against riven bot who he counters then garen is still in deep shit because the jungler which will be contesting dragon is going to be nearby to come contest his rear end.

No two lanes are the same. There are 2 major factors that dictate the primary differences that matter for most of the game + 1 more that can be a thing from time to time

  1. location relative to dragon pit
  2. the length of the lane

and then there's the last one, location relative to baron pit but that one works a bit differently

This mostly deals with lane phase though

BUT

for the most part if you take garen mid nobody is going to come capitalize your face off in not-particularly-high ELO.

Before reading your whole comment... The person you are replying to said SOLO LANER. Other than that, this comment is exactly why assassins go mid - to pressure dragon and baron the same, and why adc and supp take bot, because 3 people early at drag is better than 2.

If it were a normals game i guess maybe i'd understand but it's fiora mid like wtf XD That is definitely not meta, infact that could have easily thrown the game for the enemy team cause she is not a mid laner at all.

I disagree. The Fiora player probably counter picked against the zed. I assume fiora can negate zed's ult.

Also if a player constantly plays a champion they know how to deal with a variety of situations

Zerenza1 votes

Its not meta not because she wouldn't win the match up which since it's a skill match up we'll leave that out but because the mid lane dynamic doesn't allow for fiora and other bruiser to survive the mid lane usually. Due to heavy ganks, ranged match ups and overall less DPS compared to most mids.

Meta or not, Fiora won lane. So why are we whining about the Fiora pick and not the leaver who ruined the ranked game for their team?

TeCoolMage1 votes
  1. Zed has less DPS than most mids, and Fiora who can kill tanks as well as squishies

  2. Zed has harder time against ranged matchups because his mobility is on a long cooldown and he's gated by his ult to get kills

  3. Top lane is longer so it's harder to escape a gank so Zed has a harder time against ganks

Existential Bard1 votes

Also there is a problem with your "logic". Sure there is a meta, but every game is not the same. The fiora player picked a champ they obviously knew and picked it into something that she had and advantage over. Also fiora with a flash or ghost along with her dash can evade many ganks.

Fiora mid is actually really effective especially since she scales late game AND has good roaming, in laning phase she beats champions like zed and anivia overall as she can flexibly play to either farm and wait for late game, or play aggressively and roam while Zed doesn't have a reliable late game and anivia doesn't have reliable roaming.

However, she doesn't push these champions out of the meta because the meta is defined by pro player picks, and they play in a way where Anivia's superior late game and Zed's superior roaming are always in effect, by not picking them against champions that counter these strategies, and because of the complicated world of team composition

Sounds like a typical Zed player to me.
