Why can't split pushing be a viable strategy?

Riot has said that they want to make split pushing a viable strategy...and yet it isn't. Split pushing is never a TRUE viable strategy.

"But split pushing is actually alright with certain champs!" I here you say.

Lets examine those champions Quinn TwistedFate Shen Pantheon do we see a pattern here? All of these champions have the ability to be in a teamfight in an instant (or close to an instant). This is not split pushing, this is still a team fight centric idea.

Then there are those in top lane that can split push because it takes 3 or 4 champs to kill them

Split pushing is kinda boring.

I wish I could splitpush as an ADC, but I will probably end up dying instantly..

I suppose the problem with split pushing, is that the enemy knows you are split pushing, and will stop you with a couple man gank because they know that if you can split push, you will cause a ton of problems for the enemy team with how squishy turrets are.

split pushing is fundamentally wrong when starting off with a meta build because it doesnt allow mid to late game advantage. if you're going to split push you have to start with champs in all lanes that are unique to the strategy. you cant take the team fight meta and build off of it to make a split pushing strategy. you have to start from scratch. that's impossible now that riot has forced everyone to play dynamic draft. split pushing works best when you have your carry situated in mid to apply extra pressure. then bottom will either have to accommodate for the extra unit in mid or try their best to win bottom before you win mid. put a fighter top and bottom that is great at destroying towers and have your mage support and marksman mid. they'll level 1/3 as fast but with heals crowd control and range that lonely assassin or mage wont know what to do if his team ignores his cries for help.

Just since I still miss season 5 -- Splitting was more viable back then, with upgraded warding trinket. Average person could have 3 wards down, made it so that you could splitpush without getting ganked by their entire team.

Realistically thou, now, as a stratedgy, it works. Typically the top laner, since they can afford to TP. It also requires a team that knows enough to play safe, and avoid getting into a position that allows for them to be engaged on. 1-3-1 pushes, if you're looking for a "split push comp". They have to send sufficient resources to deal with each push, and if they don't, then they lose objectives. Much weaker strat without vision though.

Straight splitting is viable, but you have to comp the whole team around it if the splitter doesn't have a global ability. Disengage/stall/waveclear. Otherwise you do what I call "hybrid splitting," which is using it to create pressure away from your team and desired objectives, and then joining your team and taking whatever it is you want.

I have a 65% win rate on Nasus doing literally nothing but splitpushing.

I'm just saying.

Like I said. Those that take 3 or 4 champs to kills. Nasus does that.

Okay, so splitpushing is viable.

Do you want it to be viable with any champ? Is that what you're saying? Because that doesn't seem realistic.

It should seem realistic. You want to know why? Cause waiting until like level 15 and then ganging up in mid is a viable strategy in EVERY TEAM COMP. The fact that split pushing is almost unheard of should be evidence to this. I guess believe that, just as a team can make a decision to pop out of their lanes and hop into mid, a team should be able to say "hey, everyone is doing good in their lane by themselves, lets not change that" and have everyone just stay in their lanes. Right now it's just a freaking tower race. As soon as bot lane gets their tower the teaming up begins, ADC moves to mid to help mid take their tower and then it all collapses on that. Considering how freaking pathetic towers are now, this isn't a good thing

I'm about to make a post: I wish gragas ADC was viable.

It'll be just as sensible as this one.

The map is too small. The DOTA map is way bigger and there are champions that only push or try to backdoor - and the towers there are harder to take down. Also if you play DOTA, you will know that these strategies are quite annoying - you may win every teamfight and still lose the game.

Im pretty sure splitpushing is harder right now due to a lack of accesible vision to top laners
