Mordekaiser in LCS Showed That you Don't Have to Follow the Meta to be Good
We all talk about the "meta sheep" following whatever the hell the pros play because it's "the meta", but since when has Mordekaiser been meta? Of course, now the so-called sheep will be playing him like he's the next OP pick, but see LCSkaiser a bit differently. With the right team comp and practice, any champion can be really strong. Despite the bugs, nerfs, and overall weird kit, Mordekaiser works. That isn't to say that Mordekaiser is in a good spot, he really needs a VGU, but there is something to take from this. If you're one of the players who likes to just follow the pros, know that you don't have to follow them to be a great player. There are a lot of good Galio, Urgot, Mordekaiser, and Aatrox players out there who practiced their champion, ignored what the top-tier players were doing, and became great on their own.
Don't let a bunch of pros define what you play. The pros may force Riot to make decisions, but they don't force you. There are exceptions, make sure your team is OK with what you're doing. We don't need more Nunu "supports".
