Champion Mastery Rework

I really have no idea why this system is implemented the way it is right now. It seems almost completely pointless and arbitrary; no retroactive recognition, people were hitting Rank 5 a couple days after release, etc. The more tim egoes on, the less this system will tell you about a player and their champion, exponentially. Because the system right now is just points that can be grinded out. If anything it just says "this is one my favorite champions", but a "favorite champion" has little to do with mastery.

And... why does this include a grade system that's only secondary?

The grade system should be the primary feature. Every match, you get a grade, the last 10 or 20 grades on a champion get averaged out for your total Mastery level. If your overall Mastery level on a champion is high enough, you unlock special recognition and rewards for as long as you keep it there.

And people should not be afraid to do badly and be bad at certain champions. Maybe the system could also feature a longer, 50 game secondary track that will inform you if you've at least been improving in some way with that experience, or if you're just bad at the champin and can not improve your performance even after all those games.

Please don't just copy other MOBAs with big features like this, Smite's "Worshiper" system is just as bad, with even worse grind.

The name is simply a little misleading. It is at most just a quick peek at if a person has never played a champion, and more accurately just a perk for the champions you like to play often.

Literally the only problem with it is the name, because people are getting overly upset thinking it is supposed to be an accurate representation of skill when it was never advertised as such.
