meh as a maokai 1 trick i dont think it be very useful.

i rather be able to target sapplings and bring back the splash/impact damage and shift the % hp damage back to W

It would be kinda OP. His ult is already a huge bank denial, plus his Q stun, but adding a legitimate escape to his kit would make him impossible to punish.
