Jungler forgets to take smite and it's GG. Proposed help/solution to this problem.

1). Jungler in champ select gets smite summoner selected by default. 2). Champ select issues warning to jungler if no smite selected before the game starts. 3). In worse case scenario, jungler can take smite on fountain at start of game.

3 is probably not feasible, but I throw the idea out anyways.

Frankly, I don't see any reason why the game doesn't remember your pregame configuration on a per-champion basis. If you select X champ, it should automatically select the rune and mastery page, as well as summoner spells, you last used on X champ. It wouldn't magically fix everything but it would be an improvement.

They could make machete / talisman available for purchase by one player until 3:00 if no smite is present on that team.

Jungling without smite isnt optimal but jungling without exp boost is nearly impossible.

there is one solution, if you forget smite have the decency of not connecting in the game at all and allow your team to remake

I once got auto filled jungle and picked Skarner. Everything looked fine except I forgot to take smite. I apologized to my team profusely and continued to play the game anyways. Jungling without smite is painful as hell. Thankfully we somehow managed to win!

So don't lose all hope if you forget your smite, you can still try hard.

Your third idea would be workable if Riot decides to continue working on "Summoner Specialist" as previewed in Dev Corner. Although you would want to make sure there's a global message if someone uses this feature so people don't have to watch the scoreboard like a hawk.

I was given jungle one game and forgot to take smite. You know what my solution was?

Close the game before it started and did something else for a little while. I hoped my team knew why I wasn't connecting and would take the 3min surrender.

I came back about 20mins later and they were still playing. All it did was hurt their game.

Play duo top and make sure bot/top are taking the appropriate jungle buffs after pushing lane in.

There will be a new rune that will let people swap summoners. Tho it might be too late in the game to matter.

of all the smiteless game i've seen, whether it was my team or enemy, most games were won by the smiteless team. there are multiple ways to go about it once it happens, most importantly: don't get tilted to prevent it, just watch champ select and warn the person

that's it, nothing needs to be done game wise. only attitude wise and decision wise

They could always change smite and jungle so that it isn't mandatory for jungling. Being able to take teleport and smite would be fun to play if it was doable. Or several other strats. Maybe make a jungling item that can only be bought if you don't have smite.
