Maybe when you people start playing him you realize how weak he is late without a full damage build. I went 100% crit vs an ashe with guardian angel and bloodthirster and the barrel only took out 10% of her hp through the 350 hp shield from bt. His ultimate is complete trash now, it's only good with the thunderlords proc, and his barrel reload time is completely stupid. Of course if you get him ahead he'll stay ahead, just like fiora, riven, renekton, olaf, etc.. If anything, gp needs buffs so he can stop becoming complete trash as soon as the enemy team gets a brain and realizes they shouldn't group up for a barrel pop which only does enough damage with a crit.

The Nerf didn't touch the guy, for anyone who was remotely okay with him. He's still busted. Anti Melee, Anti ranged, Safe waveclear, Stupid late game scaling. He spikes at trinity, pretty damn strong overall.

He's a frustrating champion to face because as a melee, what can you do? you just have to accept the free zone, harass, and slowly watch yourself be down in items, even if you have the same CS.

They nerf gp coz they dont want to nerf triforce since it makes some people who utilize it come back into meta. Riot's balance team are upside down around worlds. They're changing stuff for worlds atm and gp in high elo dominates. As a lvl 7 gp i cannot confirm that he has a terrible damage output late game as i have oneshot an ashe that had full hp runes, ga and a fully stacked bt with a build something like triforce > lucidity boots > IE > PD > Spirit Visage > QSS. I still oneshot her and did 55% of the tank trundle supports health. You were probably just underfed/underfarmed. Getting Deaths Daughter first or Fire at Will really fixes the damage output on his ult (DD for single-target burst and FaW for more aoe reliant ults.) Get evidence before you post please.

TL;DR GP's late game damage output is stupid strong you just aren't playing him right.

Idk everytime I play him top I can never kill him but he can't kill me, he's kinda tanky and when he stacks barrels in a line they can do a lot of damage, only reason I don't get killed a lot by him is because I played Lissandra against him so I was able to e away or ult myself
