RIP Janna

Not allowed to viable outside of pro play. Not only did they nerf her early game yet again, but they hit her late game and even her ult. Seriously just because Janna counters the stupid damage meta doesn't mean she's broken. I almost never see her at all. No one wants to play her because you have made her too hard to do well. Then you nerf her reliable skills and what do you have left. (The problem right now is we have everyone doing damage including the bruisers). item 3053 item 3742 item 3748 item 3156 basically make any champ a juggernaut.

If you want to argue with me look at RekSai. They did same shit to her and look at her now. You can't just gut someone's every strength when they aren't causing issues. Rek'Sai fell off after her first set of nerfs as did Janna. Now Janna is seeing the round 2 Rek'Sai nerfs and is basically not viable anymore. You took away appromately 14 AD early game and 10 AD late game as well as reduced her CC. You can't just keep nerfing her without compensation.

As a janna main

She can still disengage/interupt the divey folks, and she's still got all of the shield portion of her e. The lose of 10 ad late game is kinda sad but not the biggest of issues, as it's 'only' a longsword-worth of dmg.

I'll have to play with it for awhile to get a feel for the impact the ult nerf will have, but most of the time I am using it for the displacement aspect of the disengage rather than to hold people in place, so I don't think it'll be that devastating.

I'm pretty sure she'll still be viable, it just might not be viable in every single comp as she almost is currently.

Ridiculously high playrate and winrate, low skill floor (decently high skill cap though) these stats are absolutely STUPID and barely any other champion would get away with sitting on these for as long as she did... The nerfs seriously aren't even that bad to begin with though (so hardly rip).

Also it's annoying when people say a champion "isn't OP it's only because of the meta that they're strong."

Quite a few champions that are insanely strong right now are almost entirely strong due to good early/mid game and rely on games not reaching late game, so are we going to pretend Shyvana Graves Quinnaren't problems just because they are only strong because of the meta?

low skill

Fair enough but she at least requires more skill than garbage like LeeSin Yasuo Zed

not really they all fit the description of low skill floor, but high skill cap...

Dominick Destine1 votes

Nonsense, they are classic low skill characters.

Manaless, multiple escape mechanisms, extremely high margin of error. They are the quintessential low skill champs.

Yea, your explanation perfectly describes why they have a low skill floor. Big difference between players who have a lot of experience/mechanical skill on them and players who don't though hence the high skill cap.

Idk she is about on par with Lee. Yasuo kind of takes a little bit of skill but isn't as hard as Janna. Zed doesn't really take much skill as all IMO (I play him just not much anymore) he just is timing based.

I also want to point out that Janna now has way less damage than Bard while having about equal utility.

She'll definitely be fine... and this is more a personal opinion so I'm definitely not saying this objectively, but you can halve Janna's bonus ad on her shield and remove the healing on her ultimate and I'll still prefer having her over bard any day XD. Getting a bard on my team instantly tilts me.

Idk she is about on par with Lee.

Lee has 3 brainlessly easy, low cd escape mechanisms, is manaless, with built-in sustain and high base stats.

There is no easier character. You can make myriad of mistakes on Lee and never suffer for it.

Yasuo kind of takes a little bit of skill

No he does not.

This has happened literally every single year and Janna has bounced back without fail.

Janna: "Nothing can hold me back!"

Wait, that's not Janna....

Janna: "Nothing can hold me back!"

That was -so- confusing for a second... I read Alistar's quote in Janna's voice and then my brain looked for the quote in game responding with "ERROR, BRAIN FILE NOT FOUND"

As a support main who has made Janna a go-to pick for a while now, I'm not that worried about these changes. And frankly, they were probably necessary, and not just at pro level.

A -4 AD on the shield buffs early?

But I guess that's something to complain about.

Drehirth

meanwhile support lulu is left to rot :(

Athenes Lulu1 votes

Not really.

Though what should be a bigger concern is that the current nerfs won't do much to anything. Lulu will still be ~100% pick/ban in competitive.

They didn't nerf her that hard. I'm sure she'll still be plenty useful, even in casual. Think about this. With the big damage nerf a lot of other champs got, like 15 less ad on titanic hydra and some other nerfs like Shyvana's q, it'll be easier for her to save people so she'll still have quite a presence in a lot of situations. And her late game wasn't hit very hard. The only reduced the base AD on her e, not its AP ratio, so endgame it won't make much difference.
