There are item synergy design issues that need to be addressed. The recent coin line update was geared very heavily towards the enchanter types, while athenes is clearly forcing coin out as an option in favor of going for the spellthief line for the synergy.
Erockandroll2 votesHonestly though, the tier 3 spell thief items only offer 50% mana regen, so were talking a synergy of 10AP. I really don't believe that's a significant factor, unless your also including the base AP on those items, but that has always been the case though.
Athene's isn't forcing anything out yet, not unless if forces enchanters to actually build AP. (Which isn't historically the case) If Coin doesn't synergize with athene's, they will just pick different items.
