What are you supposed to do in the jungle?

I played two back to back games today as Xin Zhao. First game, I killed the enemy jungler twice within the first two minutes, and he was completely worthless for the entire game while I stomped on whoever I wanted. Next game, I got invaded on and died twice within the first three minutes, and from there was constantly underleveled, under farmed, and completely worthless. At no point in the game was I any closer than 3 levels under the enemy jungler, and I was even 2 levels under their duo lane. For the entire game. What exactly are you supposed to do as a jungler when your team refuses to help, and you literally cannot even do your own krugs without having to contest them? This isn't even a rant I'm genuinely confused as to what I was supposed to do in that situation. As every time I walked into my jungle I had to contest a camp and died.

Avoid dying at level two. Also, you just described what every jungle I had has experienced so far since the scuttle change.

Secure scuttles

This is just what toplaners have been dealing with ever since the Ardent Censor meta

Whoever dies first loses the lane MASSIVELY and can't catch up, with the exception of the enemy jungler somehow losing their fingers and hands to play league

no disrespect, but the whole notion of a jungler getting behind right now being a new thing is a load of BS. Even before Riot changed the jungle in 8.10, if a jungler died one or more times to his opponent jungler early, then that jungler was going to be useless in anything but a countergank. And if a team coordinates an invade on a jungler early, say at their second buff, then that jungler is going to be behind, especially if they die, as the other team will take that quadrant of the jungle.

The only thing that has changed now is that around the 4:00 mark (when the second scuttle spawns) junglers have to fight over it. The only way that you can get away with not fighting for it is if you execute a successful gank, and then also get an invade.

The jungle position has always been a place where if you fall behind you become useless, as you cannot just fall back under your tower in the jungle, but Riot has put more impetus on objectives in the river between jungles. Which means that if you fall behind in the first place the game is over even harder now, since if you cannot fight for your own jungle, how are you going to be able to fight for scuttle?

If you lose the 1v1 early you're supposed to stay away from the enemy jungler, ward up, and ask for help from your laners.

Just like how Top has had to play whenever they died to that level 2/3 gank just swap laners for jungler.

You've been a victim of the "high level tactics" that riot aimed to implement through the scuttles.

If you're that far behind, you've to find a way to get some shutdowns and kills to get back in the game. If you're 2 lvl behind trying to farm your jungle, if you can, can help with damage control but won't put you back in the game on its own.

You can eventually start to build tanky to at least have some utility for your team during the fights.

? Don't you know? The community cried for your head and it was granted. Is there a problem with you playing a fighter support?

Play safer. Think wether putting yourself at risk is worth risking your life for. Use the completely free ward every player starts the game with.

I seriously cannot fathom this. Do all you people expect to go 0/2 and keep playing like it never happened? In what lane does that EVER happen? Why should it be more forgiving for junglers than laners?

If you route efficiently, you won't have problems in the jungle. I've had several games where I was shit on early in the jungle and was able to make a nice comeback, even carrying some games. Before the jungle change, efficient routing was some shit you might have thought about that one time, now, it's THE way to play the jungle.

Thats why this is one of the stupidest changes I've ever seen. They have not stopped early and often ganks. They have just made it more one sided when it happens because one of the junglers becomes so useless they cant even contest it. The jungler who wins the level 2 war gets to have free reign over both jungles and the lanes.

Laners are now forced to gank for the jungler, and babysit the jungler! It's a complete reversal of roles!

Its out of pure self preservation that your laners are forced to contest scuttle for you, because they know if they let you lost that scuttle war then the entire game is likely lost as the enemy jungler has free reign to gank them.

[sona-playing] :

  • don't think about what to do when behind, but what u need to change for not falling behind
  • when behind item 3361

As jungle the rules is : don't gank a losing lane. Depending on the situation its same concerning your case (and depending how their lanes are).

if you really cant go to your jungle, buy yellows boots and try to gank 24/7 , even if you dont kill the enemy just be there and maybe land 1 skill, then rotate where you decide is better and move like so, make sure to add that gank tax™ for max profit

What I would personally do is buy resistances to whatever that jungler is using, buy a control ward and put it where you think he's going to be, and avoid all fights with him while trying to secure as many camps as you can on your side and his by knowing where he is by where he has ganked.

I feel you. I played jungle Kha a couple of days ago, and I got killed twice in 3 minutes. After that I were completely useless, I could just have gone afk nothing would change
