Executioner's Calling mechanic is unfair and lacks any counterplay

It NEEDS a restriction, just like Morellonomicon.

The item as it is is broken and should not leave PBE in this state if you really want to maintain Grievous Wounds

It needs to either:

  1. Only apply Grievous Wounds on targets below x% HP;
  2. Be an active item that only applies Grievous Wounds upon activation, either for X seconds or for X number of attacks;

Additionally, Thornmail should also have Grievous Wounds now more than ever since new ADC itemization is stupid and they're capable of getting over 50% lifesteal with a viable build. (What were you even thinking adding lifesteal to Mercurial Scimitar???)

Please don't let this item leave PBE like this.

Do you have a PBE acc?

You mention EC lacking counterplay, then suggest making Thornmail have none either?

Thornmail is already a problematic item in that it punishes players for attacking someone, generally when you have no other choice. You stack 350+ armor against any ADC not named Vayne, and without obscene levels of lifesteal, that carry simply cannot fight a 4000 health 350 armor tank going straight for you, which is probably dealing a ton of damage to you anyways. Generally, they are also hard to peel as well. And you can't even auto attack them since the armor% bonus on hit is hurting you just as hard (if not harder) than what you are healing, so basically feels pointless to even try and fight them (I even had Last Whisper and it did squat against them.)

It's still too early to come to conclusions on the PBE (not sure I agree with EC coming back either, would rather they remove GW entirely and rebalance the champions that necessitate taking it such as Swain, Dr. Mundo, or Volibear.)

All they gotta do for grevious wound is it only affects self-healing, and raise morel's restriction+place the new item to 75% max hp so outside sources still have a point but it can still do it's job

Also another thing the grevious wound should be at a 75% threshold on sunfire, this way sunfire's counterplay is keep them away but if in range it's more threatening but easier to deal with by kiting.
