Why is this still a thing: turret first blood ?

So well, the Question is pretty much self explaining i´d guess...but just to also add a few of the long known issues with the whole concept:

  • first turret even without the first blood had a fairly high winrate already as it opens up the map and denies vision, so no need to punish the team that loses the turret even further
  • turret amor changes + drake control are more than enough to defy laneswapping in proplay already
  • turrets don´t fcking bleed in the first place usually

So all in all...how is this still a thing Riot?

1 turret first blood only raised the first turret winrate by a little under 2 percent. 2 lane swapping was extremely popular before turret first blood 3 Its not officially called turret first blood thats a community moniker so this point is invalid.

They're doing it to reward those who focus more objectively in the game and take it away from being so kill-based. Newer players generally will chase kills instead of push objectives, and does that win? Quite regularly, no; it doesn't.

They just want to impress the importance of focusing objectives. And it's nice to either be rewarded for reaching that small goal first, or to be a little more vigilant for other goals because you didn't get it.

I don't have a problem with first blood as one guy stated the winrate only increased slightly. What I have a problem with is them pinning it on bot lane. All towers need to be equal and riot has made it so bot lane is the prime target to get the first turret.
