I think the resolve tree is pretty good too.
Most top laners will love the sustain from "Grasp of the Undying". Every time you trade an auto attack when the enemy goes for a last hit you get 3% maximum health.
Most true tanks will want bond of stone for the 8% damage reduction + taking damage that would have been dealt to nearby allies.
Agree that Strength of the Ages is incredibly underwhelming.
The Cunning Tree has the first 2 options for offensive burst champions - the former being better if you lack a way to escape after going for an assassination on the backline, the latter being better to help get that burst over the top. The last option is great for supports who want this tree (although the second option would be better on any damage dealing supports like Brand or Annie).
Yes, the ferocity tree seems to be the strongest.
Overall, what I really dislike about the new masteries is that the points I would want to take in an off-tree are only available in the highest tier for the non-ferocity trees. I want that 5% CDR on a tonne of champions, ESPECIALLY tanks who I'll be going deep in the resolve tree with or magic-assassins that I want to go deep in the ferocity tree with.
The new masteries make me make choices, but it seems really powerful on certain groups of champions and really underwhelming on others. There's some champions I play that I look at the mastery tree and see how the choices are really going to help them a lot. Then there are others where aside from the one keystone I see next to nothing that helps them much at all - and in some cases the keystone doesn't even seem great on them...
