So tell me...why is Ekko being buffed when his uninteractive laning phase isn't being addressed?

All he does is spam Q to clear waves out or range of anyone.

All you're doing is making it so he can E in more often when one manages to hit someone.

You're not making him any healthier. You're making him worse to lane against because its more difficult to stay in lane against, while he already has no troubles at all during laning.

You need to make his Q do 50-75% damage to minions. For fucks sake anyone can see what's going to happen coming from miles away.

Yeah it's one thing to be an uninteractive mage that can't really force anything. It's another to be an uninteractive assassin who can easily just play Q farm when behind and who also excels at making plays and killing stuff.

The thing is most mages don't get anywhere close to Ekko's level of permaclearing until later in the game, when you can reasonably start grouping.

excuse me? are you talking about vlad vs ekko?

because else, i can't see ekko outranging anyone mid

So you're saying his laning phase doesn't consist of mindlessly spamming Q at waves without interacting with anyone?

no, i'm not saying he doesn't do this i'm saying this isn't a problem not the same fam

uninteractive laning phases are a problem if the enemy cannot do anything against it, singed Q for instance is uninteractive because if you try to do something you get free damage

ekko Q does cost a lot of mana, does not kill waves instantly, and does not outrange most of midlaners all of this means that the enemy can do something to punish ekko, especially if he wasted Q on wave, it's his only tool to answer back

Good luck punishing and answering him when he's just going to E away.

Go ahead and act like corrupting, d-ring, dark seal ekko ever runs out of mana while waveclearing.

The thing about Ekko is that you can try to punish him but with his wave push playstyle there isn't really an opportunity.

He walks up and Qs the wave from a pretty safe range , the Q stands out long enough that all minions should be hit and than he just walks away and does it again. Walking INTO Ekko isn't an option unless you're significantly ahead. Walking into any assassin is asking to get your face pounded into the ground. His mana issues are for the most part negated if you invest in mana items like dorans, corrupting, dark seal.

Also I find Morellonomicon really good on Ekko and gives him a bunch of stuff he actually likes. High cdr, mana, and mostly grevious wounds because assassins actually like grevious wounds if they can get it. The item is over loaded, so it's also good on Ekko.

Because almost every mid has that non interactive aoe farm potential and riot isnt going to cherrypick ekko just because the board circlejerk doesnt like him. Plus yall are acting like his e buff is going to matter what ekko player goes in on you every time e is off cooldown?

It means he can use it more freely like similar to Zed's W. It gives him more options when he already has options for lane phase.

Yes most mages can just turn into wave clear machines but none have the same play style as Ekko. Ekko is an assassin and has tools in his kit to assassinate and also also carry huge amounts of pressure on the map. Imagine if Zed, Talon, Akali, Fizz, Katarina, or LeBlanc could just shove you into tower constantly from range if they were behind... Ekko is able to.

Assassins already have a lot of kill pressure on their lane opponents and tend to have a leg up over most mages when it comes to getting kills. One of the trade offs to this higher kill pressure and more killing tools is less wave clear but for Ekko this is not the case. He gets to have extra kill pressure on the enemy and also has a very easy to execute fall back plan on cleaning waves with Q.

Unhealthy.

His options for laning are basically Q and E. E having a 2 second cd decrease isn't going to cause some massive shift in how he plays if it causes a change at all. it's 2 seconds on a skill that forces him in. At best its' up 2 seconds faster if he uses it to dodge a skillshot or escape.

The reason ekko has a tool like his Q is because unlike those other assassins he doesnt have the same level of burst they d. and ekko isnt going to be shoving any decent mage to tower because for how good his Q is the enemy mage is most likely doing the same thing while also having ranged auto attacks.

Let's not say that assassins just have higher kill pressure in general because that's just not true. Some do but they pay for it with usually being melee and lacking CC. Once mid to late game comes around the gap in kill potential between mages and assassins closes rather tightly.

Ekko is completely different from most assassins. His kill pressure isnt nearly as high and he has 0 ways to force you onto his ult location. To compensate for this riot gave him more tools which is fair. if ekko had bad waveclear and bad kill potential compared to other members of his class why would you play him?

Exactly I'm glad you agree. It's extra power that he didn't need.

We talking about the same Ekko here? I've one shot many squishies with just E->Q->Auto attack and have seen streamers do the same. Sure with the new lethality changes ADs are scary but Ekko is still the same.

Errr no it doesn't. Assassins have way more tools to kill off a squishy back line threat while mages have burst but they can't just appear and gun down a backline threat. Assassins don't need CC because they use mobility to avoid damage and get the kill. Mages generally have more CC because they don't have the same tools to access the backline and work around teamfighting. Yes they may do the same damage especially if they have the same build but I'll take a Zed, Fizz, Ekko in a 1v1 over any mage any day because their kits specialize in taking down one target.

They also gave him insane ratios to work with. That's why Ekko can get away with E->Q-> Auto dead and doesn't even need his ultimate to kill, he can save it to get out. With the assassin update all assassins are different from each other. Ekko's kill pressure is just as high as other assassins but he works more around waiting for parallel convergence, that's the only major difference. Talon works around terrain, Zed works around shadows, Fizz works around his R, Akali works around her W, Katarina works around her daggers. Ekko's kill potential isn't bad compared to other members of his class. His W exerts an insane amount of pressure along with his high mobility and damage.
