@riot Feedback on the new ranks by role idea

First off, I want to say I really like the idea of having ranks by role. I've been thinking about this kind of feature for a quite a while so it is nice to see an implementation of it on the table.

My concern is about how this will interact with primary/secondary roles and auto-fill. If someone is trying to rank up a particular position, it is going to feel real bad if they don't get the position they want to rank up and have to wait until the next game to try again. I would think that if the lp gain only applies to the role played then won't there be less incentive for those who do not receive their desired role to play out the game or try as hard to win if they care less about the rank of the role they received? Also, if someone dodges and there is an lp loss, would that affect all roles or just the position that presumably someone dodged that they didn't want to play? In the worst case scenario where someone alternates evenly between primary and secondary roles and gets auto-filled to an off role whenever the system marks them as available, the lp grind for an increased rank for a specific role could require 2-3x more games played to reach the same level of achievement as we do now.

How would this be addressed in the new system? It sounds like auto-fill in part was created to address the issue of queue times when a particular role was less desirable (cough support cough) so that games could be filled. Ideally if all roles were desired equally then this would be less of an issue but I'm not sure if that is realistic?

Ranking by role should never happen. People would abuse role swapping. I am a gold-plat support but a bronze ADC. I could queue for ADC then request to play support and be way better than the enemy support.
