What do you think the good average game time is?

I think it's around 32 minutes.

Let's look at it now. If the average game time is 27 minutes (according to Riot), that means we have matches that will span from about 17 minutes to 37. The problem is that the late-game mark is around 35-40 minutes. That's not enough time to get the ball rolling on a late-game champion. On top of that games that end before surrenders are nice and quick but they should NOT be the norm.

However, the likely range on a 32 minute game would be somewhere between 22 and 42 minutes. That means someone who got going at around 35 minutes can take a Baron, get Elder, and use them to close out a game, while someone who got fed 10 minutes in can close out a little after surrenders can be called.

To do this, I think a great place to start is by reducing early snowball potential. Keep first tower blood (maybe nerf it by 100 gold) but fortify bot tower to somewhere between its current strength and optimal tower strength. Increase the damage/tankiness of later towers (preferable inhib and nexus ones) and make ADCs better at taking towers OR APs worse at it, because at the moment a Poppy will outtank a tower (type in "poppy in 2017" and pull up the first Youtube video) while APs shred through them.

The correct answer is 35 minutes, this has been proven.

I agree. A 35 minute game is about what I expect when I play. And that is plenty of time for a late game champ to get going (I main Veigar).

You forgot to consider rank

40 minutes is the norm in low level games. Closer to 20-27 is only in higher level games.

Though i would say you are mostly correct. I think in this meta, games are DECIDED after laning or very soon after, so realistically 20min. or less in some cases.

You can't increase the strength of one tower and not do it for the others in it's sister-positions. Reason being that you then incentivize taking the weaker towers. You just move the dives from bot lane to mid or top and would see the other lanes collapsing on them to help.

?

That was Riot's plan the entire time. I'm saying return some of the strength to it so that while it is incentivized it's not taken as quickly nor does losing that first tower spell game over.

but fortify bot tower

Your exact words. What I'm saying is you can't fortify one of the outer turrets without doing it to all 3. All 3 is fine, one is not.

Boi

Riot wanted to discourage lane swaps.

To do this, Riot made bot tower only 75% of the durability of the other towers.

Returning strength in this case is synonymous with fortifying it and i'm trying to make bot tower LESS of an incentive so that they have less clownfiesta. If we fortify all three outer turrets we're at the exact same conundrum we have right now.
