Poppy is a walking stat check
Nothing inherently outright broken on her kit. Just a walking ball of stats and ridiculous base damages with a point and click CotC proc

I'm sure the fact that she counters Wukong has absolutely nothing to do with your opinion.
Nerfs are already lined up on the PBE.

Who the hell doesnt counter wukong? His laning is notoriously bad.
His laning isn't great, but he his early levels are rather strong and he can be oppressive if he manages to get an advantage.
His E provides an attack speed steroid, his Q is an autoattack reset which reduces armor (amplifying minion damage) and his W lets him drop minion aggro or absorb hits.
Champions such as Yasuo, Irelia, Gangplank and Gnar have issues with him since they are rather squishy early-game.

Irelia shouldnt since she can stun him after his dash and retaliate, she also has reliable built in sustain against wukong's type of fighting style. Yasuo would seem more like a skill matchup to me with his shield absorbing wukong dash damage. Gangplank and gnar make sense.
Irelia can vary. Her sustain is dependent on actively hitting targets; if you chunk her to the point approaching the minions is dangerous, it isn't much help and you can just zone her away from farm. She can crush you if you fall behind, but you do have a period of time early-game where you can outright crush her.
Yasuo's Windwall blocks absolutely nothing in Wukong's kit while his mobility is of little use against Wukong's primarily targets damage. While his shield will absorb some damage, it is less helpful than one might think.
However, one big issue is that both champions rely on rushing damage items early (PD or SS on Yasuo, TF on Irelia). This tends to leave them rather frail early-game and easily bursted down during short trades.
Yasuo dominates you early but you can all-in him at 6 unless he has ignite and you have TP. He will still shit on you late game unless you're ridiculously fed. Wu shits on Gnar. You can even fight him in mega and still win. Wu kinda beats GP until late game. You can bully Irelia for the first few level but she beats you after that.
I don't even care about being counted in lane. For example, any decent Darius destroys Wu in lane but you can play around him and wait for mistakes. I don't think he's OP though. Poppy, however, is legit just a walking ball of stats. Free tank stats out the ass and a sure fire CotC proc on to of her own shield plus ridiculous base damages
P.S. I main jungle Wukong, thanks.
A lot of champions are stat sticks. Stat check isnt bad.
Almost all of the juggernauts are stat checks with limited mechanical counterplay (usually only one ability they have that has counterplay, like darius q or illaoi E).
Um shields cannot make champs stat checky....
See Camille...her shield IS her stat check.
I must have missed my Buzz-Word Seminar because I honestly don't even know what "stat check" means. Based upon context clues I can ascertain that it does not mean "overpowered" or "broken" but it seems to have a negative connotation. "Ball of stats" is another term that I don't get... aren't all champs 'balls of stats' ?
A stat check is generally an easy champion to play that isn't inherently broken by design, but is strong by sheer numbers alone. For example, Poppy's metric ton of free resistances on top of her high base damages make her a stat check.
Another example would be release Xin. His kit want overloaded, he just would dominate you with his high numbers alone.
A stat check differs from an overloaded champ in the fact that they don't have a ludacrous amount of tools and gimmicks and can be easy balanced by adjusting numbers.
Ball of stats is just another term for a stat check
Though if you think about it, most tanks are basically stat balls.
Poppy has already had base damage nerfed to hell and back. Don't stand next to a wall. Her bonus resistances are mediocre and don't even come into play till items are purchased and she's hurt.
She is pretty much a stat check tho.
