#PLEASE DON'T RUIN HER

Seriously a lot of people love this champion for how she is currently. I saw another eve post and got scared immediately i was reminded and horrified that my main was getting a VGU by riot games which is very scary considering everything that's happened already this season..

SOME THINGS I LOVE ABOUT EVE RIOT

  • SHES F***KING INVISIBLE ALL THE TIME
  • She's not limited to itemization !! Tank eve? AD eve? AP eve? Hybrid eve?

Seriously it will be a living nightmare if she is ruined.. and i promise that I along with the other Evelynn mains out there will in fact GIVE YOU THE MOST GRUESOME BACKLASH YOU HAVE EVER RECEIVED towards a champion VGU..

[slayer-jinx-catface] That said have a splendid night Riot games

I respect your opinion but I feel the opposite.

I wouldn't mind giving eve more focus on what items she should be building

I also wouldn't mind removing perma-stealth, so long as they add something cool in it's place

Something innovative with stealth and damage being a focus

I think the itemization difference was somewhat accidental. At first I thought she was suppose to be an AP Assassin, but I guess Riot thought that a 2 second burst window from a high stealth Assassin didn't leave much counterplay.

I'm not even sure if and what her fantasy is suppose to be, and I'm not sure how her stealth fits into said fantasy.

But this is a VGU were talking about, so there's a good chance that everything will get reworked. I'm not sure how as I haven't seen any Dev posts regarding it. But largely with these VGU's it seems like at most, one ability isn't actually touched.

Eve's conception was that she was to be a bursty shadow assassin, flickering in an out of stealth and killing people. Creature of the night an all that. She originally had a stun, which basically meant that anyone she targeted died immediately. That got nixed with an early rework, that gave her the sustained damage pattern and the awkward ultimate she has now. She was originally AP, like everyone who wasn't an auto attacker, but when the big split between AP and AD scaling was introduced, she was given AD scaling, thus giving her some hybridization. Her tankier builds came up due to her newer, sustained damage output, which required she be in the fray longer. All of this has led to a severe identity crisis with Eve, who no longer fulfills her original "kill from the shadows" assassin ideal. I'm assuming her itemization will become more streamlined, because in this day and age, hybrid builds just don't have much flow or cohesiveness.

So far, the only confirmed thing remaining in her kit is (unfortunately) her perma stealth. I personally don't like it, it makes her hard to see (and thus skins are mildly pointless) and it consumes a ton of her power budget. Otherwise, Meddler and Reav3 have expressed that they don't like her current playstyle (which includes the tanky ultimate on an assassin), so I'm hoping that they can find a way to balance her around burst and stealth. She definitely needs the work too, she just feels awkward. She looks awkward too- like some teenage dominatrix wet dream fantasy - and I'm pretty sure that spiked lingerie look will be dropped for something that fits the environment of the world they're creating.

Just a thought regarding the hybrid scaling. I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing. Though yeah, you really can't get away with a hybrid build, having both ratios does give you the option to go either way. The only real hybrid items right now are rageblade and Gunblade, and while Rageblade doesn't really fit eve, Gunblade kinda does if your going for a sustain rout.

If their was any part about her kit that wasn't streamed lined, it would probably be her E dealing physical damage. Which I feel was a fairly dated change as it was in response to her DFG build, which no longer exists. And the reason for this is that mixed damage types become harder to scale with penetration. Mixing AD and AP could be cohesive assuming they stick closely to a single damage type. Mixing physical and magic damage make it harder to itemize against tankier champs. (or even squishies)

Evelynn will not function like they want if they give her hybrid scaling - hybrid, and the sustained gameplay that it typically functions with, doesn't mesh well with a burst assassin, which is the direction that they have said that Eve should be going in. Eve is currently a sustained damage dealer, which is part of her identity crisis since she originated as a burst assassin. Assassins want to flow and spike their damage, so they need to max out their numbers as quickly as possible, and hybrid itemization doesn't allow for that. This is one of the main reasons why Evelynn can't continue to be a hybrid damage dealer in a future rework that will get her back to her original concept.
