Veigar stacks faster than he used to do why does his ult still scale with the opponents ap

It's way too easy for veigar to get over 1000 ap. Late game he just one shots the other mid

Honestly, late game his ult deals 1800+ DMG + 80% of your AP. In most cases, it won‘t really kill you unless he‘s fed. But it gets quite close to it

His ult does 3k+ damage on AP targets, stop talking please.

At 1500 AP (and you have 1000 AP), he has 500 + 1500 + 800 = 2800 damage... and that's having high AP on the target. Few mid laners actually reach 1000 AP in a normal game. 2800 is then amplified by 3% for masteries to 2884 damage... and you reduce that with magic resist.

His ult doesn't do 3000+ damage to AP targets unless he has 1700 AP against your 1000 AP, with Veigar fully penetrating your resist.

A 1500 AP Veigar is already a very lategame example. Let's humour you, though.

Elixer of Sorcery adds +40 AP. Baron adds another +40 AP (best case scenario). Dragon buff adds +6%. 1674 AP total.

What's that? You want the +12% buff? No problem. 1769 AP. So 3000+ damage if you have a Veigar with 1500 AP from farm and items, 5th dragon buff, Baron buff, Elixir of Sorcery and is able to 100% penetrate your magic resist, AND you are an AP champion with 1000 AP.

That's quite a lot of conditions to clear in order to get that 3k+ damage you're espousing. Keep in mind Veigar with 1500 AP and another AP champ with 1000 AP isn't actually all that common. In fact, few champions cap out at 1000 AP, if only because that'd require 6 120 AP items alongside a Rabadon Deathcap to reach that 1000 AP... and very few champions will invest in full 120 AP items.

I build lichbane these days so I can pop towers like Nasus. Fringe benefit, you don't actually have to land any skills to kill people. Just the lichbane procs will do like 700 damage.
