The reworks have nothing to do with balance. It's to give uniqueness and a reason to pick the champions, which Ziggs already has

Actually, Riot themselves agreed to Velkoz , Lux and Ziggs being essentially the same pick but with slightly different amounts of burst and CC. {citation needed, I forgot exactly what 3 champinos}

I think its'Xerath Lux Ziggs I personally agree that these three have very similar playstyles with slight difference, ziggs is safest pick(hardest to counter) but Lux has the ability to initiate, while Xerath is somewhere between.

Also, it's working to bring more immobile mages up speed. The listed champs (Cassiopeia, Malzahar, Vel'koz, Zyra, etc) are all champions that don't really have any secure means of getting around, and essentially operate in "turret" mode by sitting still and shooting things, something which Ziggs does not do. Plus, at least 2 of them (Cassiopeia and Zyra) have parts of their kits which have been detested for quite some time and they're finally taking a look at remodeling those aspects.

The list they have so far is Malzahar, Vel'Koz, Cassiopeia, Zyra, Brand, and Vladimir. Statikk points out that this list is not set in stone yet, and it could change as their process moves forward.

I usually use champion.gg for winrate & other stuff, but it is not available currently for some reason, so I used lolking here.
