What is Riot doing good with this preseason?
I know a lot of people are pissed off at this preseason (myself included) but I wanted to make a post about changes that we LIKE in the preseason so that Riot knows what kind of changes we want them to make. I also would like people to post what BUFFS they would like to see during this preseason to make things more balanced (rather than focusing on what should be nerfed.)
Things I like
- Hunter's Talisman health steal increased to 25 from 20 on the PBE. This has helped a TON in my PBE games and I hope this change goes live.
- Marksmen diversity: Yes some of the reworks are OP right now but each marksmen FEELS extremely different now which is pretty awesome.
- Markmen Item Builds: I really like that I no longer need to rush IE or BotRK and can actually make tactical decisions with my items based on my team comp and the enemy team comp.
- Rift Herald: Definitely a cool mechanic to encourage more attention in top lane. Unfortunately since towers are so easy to take there is often not a need for it.
- Masteries: The keystone masteries and the pick/choose aspect of masteries is very interesting. I actually wish most of the keystone masteries were A LOT stronger and had a bigger impact on the game.
Things to Buff
- Jungle Item Gold: Junglers are having a really hard time keeping up in gold in the jungle. I know Riot buffed gold per camp for junglers but overall it was a net nerf with the removal of bonus gold. Junglers really need the bonus gold per jungle camp to stay relevent.
- Tower health/resistances/damage: Towers feel like they are made of paper and hit like a wet noodle. Taking a tower should be an achievement gained by superior positioning and trading over a long period of time, superior rotations, and superior ward coverage. Right now games just snowball out of control because a couple kills can result in all the outer turrets going down (and even some inner turrets sometimes.)
- Tanks: Tanks need some love right now. Damage seems completely out of control in the current patch. Even if I build a champion full tank they evaporate in a couple seconds. It feels like the only way to win is build for damage.
- Keystone masteries: These should be game defining masteries that completely change how a champion can be played. Right now (with the exception of Warlord's Bloodlust and Fervor of Battle) they just don't feel all that important. Certain exceptions to this rule exist (i.e. Soraka with Windspeaker's Blessing) but for the most part these Keystone Masteries need to be buffed to be more relevant.
Share what you like about this patch and what you'd like to see buffed. You catch more flies with honey than vinegar after all.
and its upgrade are pretty neat now.
Windspeaker mastery is fun although I'd bet anything it's going to get gutted because of how Soraka abuses it.
