Golds, and Golds, and More Golds, Even Platinums

So lately almost every single match in norms, I've been getting multiple gold players in my matches, about 2 or 3 per both teams, even a platinum. Just yesterday me and some others beat two gold 1's, and a platinum 5 or maybe it was 4 player. I'm surprised at how bad they are, even when playing one of my worst champs and till going like 13=6=25 on them or something like that.

Anyhow, how come I continuously get matched with these players? Riot can't you just throw me into the platinum division? Seems I've been beating golds left and right as a B3. Also, I noticed when I looked at my profile, it has a thing blue border around the name, and a gold outline around the blue border. I don't remember the gold outline being there before?

Did Riot change something or am I smoking? These golds keep appearing and I don't think my MMR is even that high at the moment O.o

Normals has nothing to do with ranked. Playing golds/plats in normals does not mean you deserve to rank with them in ranked. Nor does beating them. I regularly played against (and beat) golds and plats before I hit level 30...

There's a mix of a few things probably happening: They don't care about normal games They're playing off-role or off-champion they're trying something out they're having a bad game they're returning from a long break and getting back in (hence having a really bad game) etc...

In all honesty, I find when I get matched with golds/plats/diamonds in normals I lose more often than not. When I get matched against them I win more often than not. Probably because the silvers/bronzes actually try in normals because they're sick of having bad teams in ranked. The higher ranked players are coming to normals to relax.

The gold outline is just that - an outline. It means you didn't receive any border last season (makes sense, given that you said you're bronze 3).

I will say that as much as the golds/plats you're playing with aren't playing at a gold/plat level, they're probably still playing above bronze. So if you go in to ranked with a good attitude you should be able to climb in the long run.

I refuse to play rank again until Solo que. I was nearly Silver 5, but being matched with a ton of premades dropped me all the way to B3. I can assure you that these players tried lol, I can tell, some were off meta, but most were intended champs and strong champs being played. I probably would have went all the way to Bronze 5 if I kepted going. I refused to quit cause of the premades but finally gave up after getting thrown against them.

So, waiting for that Solo que, but im wondering why these high golds have been appearing so much more.
