half the game you're playing against a ranged champion so trading in the lanephase is limited and usualy one sided.
the other half you're playing against 
sitting under their turret all game waiting to use their ultimate to gank or for someone to gank them

Pantheon will usually just walk up and spam his Q on cooldown for free harass and deny most of your cs while getting freefarm and then ult when you're under your tower with like 15 minions stacked up and you really can't afford to miss that cs to roam.

But Pantheon has a much harder time against tankiness and so long as you don't feed him over and over and over, he'll fall off mid to late game. I play him a lot and know his weaknesses and will gladly lane against him.
Frikgeek1 votesDoesn't matter how tanky you are, you'll be sitting under your tower and csing the whole early lane phase. You're unlikely to die and lose the lane but it's still the most boring matchup imaginable. If I wanted to practice my csing under tower I'd go into practice mode, not ranked.

Ranked is for doing what it takes to win even if it's not fun. Sure it can be boring, but it's much better than letting that Panth get fed get his build and delete your team in fights.
So do you wanna have fun or do you wanna win?
Frikgeek1 votesWell, obviously, I do the thing that's not fun to win. But that doesn't make Pantheon any less problematic. A champion that's not good at winning but is very good at making people miserable is a very badly designed champ.

The game is a STRATEGY game, staying in lane all game is not 100% the answer to everything.
