Quality of ranked plummeting?

So yea, did the placements and all that jazz as mostly support, things were going well, was winning a fair deal of my games after placements bla bla bla However, the past few days, I can barely seem to get a single win because of the teams I'm being put on.

I have had 2 out of the past 10 ranked games not have someone on my team either int feeding, or raging at everyone for not instant TPing to them constantly and then refusing to help the team do anything.

So am I the only one noticing this, or have I just fell as far as possible into the depths of elo hell

i doubt you're the only one noticing....I know I have noticed...I really wanted to be a support main this season....played so many normal games and felt ready...did my promos all as support...got placed the same rank I was last season (silver), and after that I think I won 2 games since. Decided after that, it's time to go back to something I can try to carry with. I don't know if it's just support role, rank in general or what, but yeah...quality of something is plummeting

I always just liked support in this, heck it was the first role I actually put effort into learning so it kinda kills me to have to seemingly abandon it if I want to rank up

I think I only did 2 of my placements as something besides support, and lost both lol

I think the elo system in general is broken and isn't compatible for LoL. The ELO system began with competitive chess where it was just a 1v1 match. League of Legends is a 5v5 match, but the ELO is still valued as a single win/lose spread across 10 people. In chess, you win or lose based off of your own ability to play. League of Legends being a team focused game adds in a whole lot of variance that affect the outcome of the game, for the same value of 1 win or lose.

I don't necessarily think having individual ELO is a way to fix the system, but the current ranking system needs a lot of changes to better reflect an individual's performance.
