Swain might be a support now.

His quick AA animation, and long AA range give him the ability to use the AP support item efficiently for harass. His E is relatively easy to land on bottom laners, with the exception of maybe Vayne. His W works for sandwiching enemies into a gank(Walk into my W, take damage+get slowed, or our jungler reaches you sooner). His Q, pretty useless, just harass for when you land E.

Also, playing as support doesn't leave u mana starved, because u aren't using Q to CS. Youre only using Q off of landing E. With this in mind, it gives you more mana to use E more often, which generally gets you 5stacks quickly, and youre never in a position where you do some 0-3 stacks ultimate.

Glacial augment+Hextech-GLP800 as 2nd item.

His scaling is so abysmal that there really isn't much point opting to be a mid lane mage(Hes terrible at being a mage), vs being a tanky utility robot.

Ive had better luck playing him as support than anywhere else so far. He feels right in the bottom lane to me.

So after playing just ONE game, suddenly he's hereby a "support" champion...

It just sounds more like you excessively lack a lot of knowledge of knowing how to play Swain in solo lanes.

I admire your extensive post history of toxicity. Keep up the good work little guy.

But you know it's true. Also, I bet "toxicity" refers as "I don't like/agree what you just said to my face" in your language.

According to your match history, you did only played reworked Swain once in your life, and that is just the support lane. You have absolutely 0 experience on playing his match against laners in the solo lane.

What makes you think that he's a "support only" champion if you're afraid to bring him mid/top?

you didn't look very hard.

Eh, its less about his kit being weak in a solo lane (which you hint at multiple times) and is more about his high base damage + utility in passive w and e. I am still of the opinion that he is fairly good solo lane and will be borderline oppressive with the itemization changes.

Reviving this post mb. I was searching for other people who see the sheer power of Swain support! He acts as a body guard (aggressive/zoning supports), with more damage output than Karma and has the same zoning capabilities as Zyra.

As a mid/supp main, I can assure you, and anyone else that might stumble across this post, that Swain support is extremely viable in the support role and more so than in mid lane (though I haven't tried him top). I hadn't even thought of getting glacial augment, that's something I'll have to try in my next game.

Also with the re-addition of Twin Shadows, I'd say a core build path would be spell thief line, boots of swiftness or mobi, GLP, and then Twin Shadows. Afterwards I'd say focus on tactics and get banner of command or focus on damage and get lichbane or rylai.

Happy Swain Supporting!

I tried Swain support last night, and I found his crowd control and vision game to be king. I paired his W with arcane comet, and which let me snipe folks as well as get vision in secure areas.

Built item 3092 as my first major item, and Swain's W plus a sight stone meant we won the vision game. Ultimately we won, but I hit like a wet noodle and died like one too, but my CC and vision made up for it I think. I think if I had the chance to build Liandrys or Crystal scepter I wouldn't have been so easy to kill and might have done respectable damage, but the game ended too early to see late game Swain support.
