Ironically, Yasuos only weakness is...

PhearBunny··108 votes·19,318 views

Yasuos only weakness is the fact that he has no weakness. It gives the player a false sense of godliness that baits them into repeatedly 1v5ing. Fortunately enough for the Yasuo player, Yasuo is so broken, that this type of suicidal, bronze behavior, actually wins games in the end. Even if he goes 0-10 in the first 20mins. Because the balance team knows what theyre doing.

What kind of shit post is that??? He doesn't have any escapes. He automatically pushes into you the moment he uses his mobility. In a 1v1 situation without minions around he literally has one gapcloser to the enemy and that's it. You can also dodge his Q which really isn't hard. His shield is on a 15 secs CD after an AA and bruisers/fighters who can dodge his tornado or prevent damage can still kill him even in a 1v1 situation, in fact they can farm him (Darius, Riven, Jax, Kled). Locking him down is easy because, again, he has no real escapes. He also doesn't have sustain, so poke is effective even if it means to get a bit close and AA him for once to get rid of his shield.

The only thing without counterplay is his WW and that has a long ass CD so either you get him killed before it's up again or you waste everything into it because you aren't patient enough to wait 4 seconds and die to him. His kit has a lot of counterplay, you are just salty.

free shield. Hyper mobility. Conq. a wall of damage immunity that defies all logic. builds GA, and often times mallet/Steraks.

Ralanr10 votes

Shield can pop in an AA Mobility doesn’t make him actually durable. He’s given that level of mobility because of how squishy he is compared to fighters. Conquerer wasn’t designed with him in mind. Windwall only blocks projectiles and as a gameplay mechanic, it functions properly. Logic doesn’t function in this game, else blinds wouldn't affect Lee. Finally, those are final build items. Compared to other fighters, he’s pretty squishy. He just builds a lot of sustain.

3TWarrior6 votes

his shield passive is up every 20 seconds early game if he has no movement items, with just greaves and static shiv, that's reduced to 14.4 seconds if he was below level 7

Terozu4 votes

Dont forget his dashes also charge his shield as well as give guaranteed Qs that cant be dodged even with flash.

Hellmaximus12 votes

And his ultimate also instantly refreshes his passive as well!

so I am a cho main and you know what bothers me when im full build have 15 stacks and i just hit 7khp and im watching a bruisers yasuo with static infinity sterags mallet boots and bt just have 3.2k health and ignoring my armor doing maybe 20 percent of my health in true damage because yasuo things ohh and that shield is enough to block y ult maxed funny right his dash can cancel cho ult his wall can block e which is chogaths main way to trade and i mean fuck it it takes me like 3 items to even deal with him but 3 items to get a decent crit chance is just too pricey gotta make it 2 items yasuo has a 2 item spike 100 percent seriously that doesn't sound like a problem to you when he has so many tools to make his lane a win unless he litteraly fucks up on his own or dives

talon is an early game champ that snow balls lucian isnt someone that can build mallet or sterags

No? BoRK into Dead Man's/Mallet, PD, Steraks, and Bloodthirster.

Occasionally Trinity as well but usually getting QSS instead. Yes PD is crit but he wasn't buying it for that alone and would still do so if PD lost its crit chance

3TWarrior1 votes

that sounds more like tank than bruiser

if PD is part of the standard build, they start with its crit components for early burst damage and attack speed, then either finish their 100% crit or switch to defensive items

guess i'll put the items in a visual form though

item 3046 item 3031 item 3742 and he could pretty much build whatever he wants from there.

adding in item 3072 and item 3078 would make him more bruiser material, but his build paths are incredibly flexible

every AD item has synergy with his kit except maybe item 3153 and that's only because it's one of the lowest AD items when he prefers higher numbers because Crit is the easiest for him to build off of

You build those items after ie

When he says conqueror and mobility are tanky he means thy make u take less dmg cause of healing and dodging abilities

LordGeovanni1 votes

Mobility isnt tankyness but it is surviavability completely negating damage that would have been taken if you didnt have said mobility. So as for your examples lucian is one of the most survivable champions in the game. Talon on the other had only has that survivability when running way.

DuskDaUmbreon6 votes

Okay. For one, yes, he is squishy. The simple fact is that Yasuo is squishy, because his build incorporates, at most, a Sterak's or a Maw in terms of defense.

Second, no. Hard CC definitely counters some champions more than others. Hard CC is doing far less against a Leona (for one example) than against Yasuo.

Third, "Overloaded" my fluffy ass.

Fourth, EVERY FUCKING CHAMPION CAN BUY A QSS SECOND. Whether or not you think they're overloaded is completely irrelevant, because anyone can fucking buy QSS second.

Ackelope5 votes

i sure hope yasuo isn't building both a sterak's and a maw.... their passives do not stack.

DuskDaUmbreon3 votes

...Alright I'll admit I temporarily forgot that.

Hush. >.>

LordGeovanni1 votes

the shields dont stack in the same fight but having both means that when steraks pops you have more health than you would with maw and get the life steal earlier and when the enemy just doesnt have enough dps to pop steraks your maw will proc if they have any magic damage on them. I build maw just to get the life line passive at a reasonable time instead of super low where its pratically unuseable (unless you have damage like yasou or a ranged carry.) and it also has slight decent ad and nice amounts nice amounts of magic resist even if its still low a low amount.

Ackelope1 votes

I didn't know they interacted like that. Another interesting one, If you pick up both a item 3078 and an item 3025 , your spellblade auto attacks will apply the damage from item 3078 to the primary target, but do the aoe damage + slow field of item 3025 . It's still pretty doubtful whether you'd want to build both at once, but it's a mildly interesting fact.

LordGeovanni1 votes

This is true but the slow field isnt worth and the rest of the slots nor is the stats on either trinity or ibg. I consider steraks worth is stats wise (not slot wise though but best that you can do as a bruiser) I dont think Maw is worth Stat wise but i do think that Maw is one of the best Magic resist items. I dont think that Maw's shield is worth because it so little shield on top of only procing in a super danger zone but unlike Steraks it has a secondary passive off of the shield which is the only good thing i think came out of Steraks and Maw sharing a passive. item 3025 has a good amount of armor but is one of the only items where thats it only has one combat stat

High mobility can reduce damage because you can evade stuff. Not to say that he is extremely durable or something. But he is well above your average carry when it comes down to durability (maybe except graves) throught a combination of slipperiness, shield (in combat) and his windwall.

???? Hard cc is the same effective on everyone (except olaf). A stunned katarina cant take any action. A stunned leona cant take any action. A stunned zed wont be able to kill. A stunned soraka cant heal. Hard cc is universal. PERIOD

Overloaded your fluffy ass? Did you just imply that yasuo is not overloaded? Now thats what i call delusion. And a big one at that.

Hey something that we agree!

A stunned Leona has probably already ulted and used all her spells, at which point she's in the middle of the enemy team with Aftershock and W going. She wasn't going to take anymore actions anyway. Now her team has to follow up and hopefully get things done before she dies. She makes that window as long as possible by using defensive spells and items.

A champion like Yasuo or Kat is balanced around continually attacking, casting, and moving in order to deal damage and avoid taking damage (which they can't easily handle due to low defenses). Stunning such a champion makes their effectiveness plummet along with their chances for survival.

Hard CC is not a universal counter.

Nyarlathοtep

True but what i said still stands true. Hard cc is effective on everyone. Hard cc is more effective on yasuo than leona. However when people ask for counterplay vs x they want counterplay that is highly effective vs x. Things like buying qss vs malz.

Despite that, yasuo is a bitch to counterplay. He is supposedly weak to hard cc. But would you look at that. He is equipped with in combat low cd dash and a windwall capable of shutting down every skillshot. Most hard cc nowadays are skillshots. So even if you have the aftermentioned hard cc, chances are that you cant even apply it if he knows what he is doing (good thing most dont THUS THE LOW WINRATE).

Hard CC can be applied to everyone, and targets are almost always affected by it except in rare cases like Unstoppable, spell shields, Black Shield, or Ragnarök. This much is true.

But it doesn't always have the desired effect of preventing the target from fulfilling their role. This is why "just CC them" is a reasonable answer on how to counter Yi, Yasuo, Kat, and other squishy champs who rely on continuous movement and action, while not being a reasonable answer on how to counter Malph, Garen, and other durable champs who cast a few abilities and then stand around.

This is similar to e.g. magic damage vs physical damage. "Use magic damage" is better advice for killing Malphite or Rammus than it is for killing Galio, even though you can apply magic damage to all champions and it'll have some kind of effect unless the target is invulnerable at the time.

lol i do agree with this haha some how the yasuo who fed 0-20 ends up becoming 20-20 and winning lol

ModCaptainMårvelous8 votes

Disagree but I don't think you're TOO far off.

The biggest thing I've always found with Yasuo is that he's designed incredibly well because while he has counters, he has an answer to his counters. The thing that trips up most Yas players is that they think having this means they're immune to their enemies which ends up not true. A yasuo who dashes through an entire minion wave to slap the mage is suddenly out of position and wasted his escape "line". Windwall is immensely powerful if you know when to use it but some Yasuo players think "YES WINDWALL NO MORE CS FOR YOU"

Honestly kinda wish everyone was designed like Yasuo where they had answers to their counters at the cost of raising skill cap.

JuiceBoxP4 votes

The problem begins when said yasuo player doesn't actually use his windwall stupidly... Then without a gank from the jungler your lane is quite lost.

I've recently had a game where i was kat vs yas and i was pretty much farming under the turret and my team did not want to help my lane. Yasuo got to the inhibitor and then finally my team decided to do something about him when he had a 70 cs lead on me and quite frankly too fed too deal with.

My fault? Maybe. But my jungler nor anyone in my team came to mid even tho yasuo was alone on my third tier tower when no one else lost a tower yet and yasuo was so much out of position.

Guess his biggest counter is team play. He runs free against idiots

Sewer Side6 votes

Yasuo’s weakness is literally any melee duelist where his dashes hardly help him escape and his windwall is pointless.

There’s a reason why he rarely plays top except by die hard Yasuo fans, who’d play him support if they weren’t gonna get flamed

HommeGoujon2 votes

He is often played top tho... https://champion.gg/statistics/#?roleSort=Top&sortBy=general.playPercent&order=descend More than Malphite, tryndamere, allaoi, Sion, Kled, olaf... and about 30 other champs lol Reaching this position while being the most banned champ doesn't match the "rarely plays top" kinda champ that you're describing.

HopeStartsWithU2 votes

He is 48 in that list lol and has a negative winrate. Anyway he meant that Yasuo, by his player base, is played mostly on mid and not top. Of course he will be played top too because he has a big ass player base. Picking him top is a death sentence though

im surprised about 1 thing actually.

since... ALWAYS riot showed they have absolutely 0 idea how to balance ad bruisers/assassins and every new champ fitting this category showed this again and again. yet its season 9 and people are still surprised why riot isnt "fixing" champ xy or xx. riot NEVER had any idea on how to balance ad bruisers and assassins so why are you so surprised about that?

IMO Yasuo's and Riven's only weakness is that their power and counterplay is completely dependant on player playing them. If the player is good he can negate plays from the opposing player. A lot of people say to just bait his Windwall. So, I have to hope that the enemy player is on the edge and makes a mistake? Yasuo has a high MS,he can even dodge some skill shoots.

In the moment he was revealed, I knew that his W would be a huge problem and powerful ability :(
