Its your fault.

PhearBunny··96 votes·17,092 views

If you are dying in your lanes without the help of jungle presence, you are making the game easier for your enemy jungler and harder for your jungler. Your feeding is going to make it so your lanes cant be helped with a gank, and now require a 4man collapse to have any hope of coming out on top of a skirmish. Which means your jungler isn't going to be doing shit, except riding out the fact that you are hard carrying the enemy team into a win.

If u regularly die in your lane without jungle presence being involved, you are bad. And your losses are likely your fault. Period.

True. But if top laner is getting camped for example, then you should be taking dragon and ganking bot lane. If you try to counter gank and you and your laner die. That is YOUR FAULT.

Some champions do need assistance early on to be able to do anything in lane in certain match-ups. While this does not apply on concurential match-ups, saying someone is feeding because you couldn't get yourself to put even some slight presence in the lane of someone who got counterpicked is a situation that could've been easily avoided in several cases.

Then again, a lot of people don't know their lane match-ups and well, yes, a lot of laners will act like dumbasses and feed hard. Just do keep in mind that someone getting counterpicked will need at least some early support to be of any use and it is your job to provide support to lanes, so doing your job and helping someone not getting stomped is pretty much a win-win situation in any way.

TLDR:

Ally laner Vs Enemy laner, if ally feeds without any jungler intervention, ally = dumb Counterpicked Ally laner Vs Counterpicking Enemy laner, if ally feeds without any jungler intervention, there's good chances that this situation could've been avoided with any kind of intervention

I'm with you to a point, but your phraseology is a bit aggressive. I'd rather suggest that losing a lane is one's own fault. I prefer to take the blame for my own failures in lane. I've never once blamed or even considered my jungler as a reason for my failure. Junglers have their own interests, and they're all over the map. Winning the lane is on me. I know that. Even if I don't get a single gank, it's on me.

But to suggest that losing a lane equates to losing the game, that's where it gets to be a bit much.

I have mained every role over the years, and jungler IS a babysitter, and like support, is completely taken for granted. At least in lower ranks. Nothing is worse than completely crushing the enemy jungler while ganking lanes, and still losing b/c lanes can't handle their lanes. It isn't condescending, its truth. I can have a garbage jungler and still win a game, I can't have a garbage lane or lanes and still win.

My experience has been the opposite. I play in the lower ranks/elos and always have. If the enemy Jungler is omnipresent, making plays, and your Jungler is nowhere to be seen, this predicament is basically insurmountable regardless of how well the lanes are doing.

You guys have it hard and I don't envy the position you're in. I would never level the blame squarely against you if we lose, because there's no way it was completely your fault. There is no leeway for you whatsoever. If you're being outperformed by your counterpart, the game is over. I think people are wrong to twist that sentiment into blaming you for losing. Every other role has the luxury of still being able to win if their counterparts are better than them, but the Jungler has no such comfort.

This is where the problem lies, if I as a jungler completely stomp the opposing jungler, it doesn't matter, there is zero impact if my lanes are losing hard. Despite the help I give them.

Its just this season unfortunately. Terrible solo laners and terrible bot laners wanted jungler nerfs and got them. Now they can't figure out why their jungler can no longer solo carry them ;(.

This is all true, except for the scenario where said laner is farming under tower from minute 1 with no jungler intervention eventually being poked out and dived.

I call bullshit!

I'm 100% certain that the vast majority of games are lost for 1 of 2 reasons and they are both Jungler related.

  1. The Enemy Jungler outperforms the team jungler. This easily makes up 50% of all losses in League of Legends. A Jungler that ganks successfully will domino the game faster than everything else combined.

  2. The Team Jungler Fails his support role. A Team jungler that can't get past his ego and understand that when a lane is being lost its his job to support that lane, and instead whines about feeding in chat makes up the other 50% of the reason games are lost.

Look.. Lanes get lost and it most often happens because the enemy jungler is supporting the lanes hard, fast and often. If your a jungler, all three lanes are your lanes, they are your responsibility. In many ways the jungler is the team leader. If the enemy jungler is ganking your lanes and your response is to bitch about it in chat, trust me, you are the reason the game is being lost.

I call bs on your bs. Jungler is not support to lanes. Jungler role is to dictating game tempo and securing objectives. If jungler is good. He can prevent enemy jungler from farm or gangs which effectively making game 4vs5.

In no way jungler is support to your lane. If you can't win all in trade on lane than don't go all in trading. If your lane is getting camped, play safe don't push, get closest jungle camp or rotate to other lane. It sucks because you feel like a little b****. But in long turn you will be winning more games and you will be more likely getting back in the game.

If your enemy left with 1 hp after you died. It is your fault. period. It is better to jungler and the team as whole to secure objectives and ganging winning lanes to snowball then trying to save lost lane.

If you lost lane. Play safe under tower and if you are pushed try to rotate on winning lanes to get yourself a little more fed.

Ivern might be only exception to this. Since he is designed to clear fast and support lanes.

If I warded out the enemy jungler, warn everyone that the gank is coming and my laner still dies to it, especially multiple times, that isn't me being out jungler, that's my laner making my opppnent's job exponentially easier.

Makes mine harder too because the response, gank the other 2 lanes, is very predictable. I always call out where I suspect the enemy is pathing but I can't force people to chill for 10 seconds.

No one, especially me, is suggesting that the Jungler is responsible for keeping the Lanes alive, or that it’s his fault if they fail. What I’m saying is that the vast majority of Junglers take the path of least resistance in matches. They aren’t trying to win, they are trying to get kills and they use their stats as a sort of bragging right and execuse for trash talking the rest of the team. “Look at me, 4 kills, Im doing my job and you guys are just feeding” (Add profanity).

Junglers are almost always the foundation for Tilt in a team and most often the toxic player in the team trash talking everyone at the first sign of trouble.

Looking back at the last 60 matches I have played, I can’t think of one in which the team lost and the Jungler wasn’t throwing profanity at everyone, calling the noobs, feeders, demanding reports and just being all around nice guys.

I don’t know why its like that, what about the position that creates this wierd “Im on your team but I hate you all” personage that Junglers have, but its so profoundly common, It feels like there is a “How to be a dick” class required before you are allowed to que for a Jungler in League... I honestly can’t explain it.. it just is.

None the less, in League the vast majority of games aren’t lost by peoples hands, but by people’s mouths.

Ah yes, the typical "You cant climb/win because its your fault".

There are multiple factors that involve laning, which you are neglecting to pass on your narrative. Yes some deaths can be avoided, however depending on your lane matchup, on your team comp, enemy comp and your jungle matchup, you are FORCED to CHANGE the way you play the game.

This is called adapting. And is made by all 10 players in the match. If you are a passive jungler, your laner that picked a aggressive and offensive champion won't be able to play so, if you have no jungler pressure at all in the map. (Jungler pressure also involves warding and pinging ganks, counter ganks, etc...)

You can't put all the fault on laners or junglers individually, that only shows your lack of game knowledge sincerely. People don't think about matchups, synergies or even teamwork anymore in this last 2 seasons. At least with tanks being often picks in the jungle and top, there was a a rather intuitive feeling to play together and communicate and theres proof of that:

When was the last time your jungler gave a midlaner a blue buff in the early game? Pretty much no jungler does this even in high elo.

CuddleMeDaddy3 votes

You are right to an extent.

This really depends on how you look at it. Someone who is 0/4 before 10 minutes obviously didn't play safe enough, ganks or no ganks, correct, because honestly by 10 minutes you can easily dodge ganks by not overpushing, since damage and ability to engage aren't that progressed yet.

But when your lane is 1/0 or 0/1 by 15 minutes and you repeatedly asked your Jungler to help putting a little pressure or finally getting that 1 kill off so you can start pushing a little and he doesn't do this a single time by 20 minutes, then what are they really doing? Jungle ganks can TURN the tide, meaning that if a lane is having an equal playing field, ONE single gank can turn this around. When it's the opposing jungler doing this and your jungler isn't helping to counter it, then there isn't much you can do apart from sitting under turret until the turret is finally gone. I've had plenty of games where this happened.

I've also had plenty of games where the opponent was non-stop pushing towards turret and the jungler didn't gank once. Overpushed lanes are basically easy opportunities, you gotta use those opportunities. I don't always lose my lane during those games, but still, when I play a jungler, I see overpushed lanes as free kills, apparently not everyone has basic strategic thinking skills.

You should never rely on your jungler, no matter the scenario, this is actually something I learned to do and I'll agree with that. But geez, why would you not wanna gank an overpushed lane as a jungler yourself? Free kill, use it.

I don't flame btw, I learned to take the game with a grain of salt and I just laugh when one of the lanes has 0/16 or something. I'm simply giving my input on your topic.

PhD in Nasus3 votes

Would've been true seasons ago. Now laners have no control over their lane. If the enemy jungle doesn't want you to play the game, you're not going to play the game. Very rarely do I see a true 1v1 top or mid.

It's all the damage creep that has accumulated over the years. Take a look at this.

This is not true in all cases

**There are match-ups that are completely balanced by riot around the jungler involvement. ** One of those match-ups is ADC top. ADCs usually have top superiority over a lot of traditional top lanners without a jungle involved. You usually don't see ADCs top because their weak point is ganking. They are fragile and limited in escape mobility which makes them perfect jungle targets.

Or a more "mundane" approach are champions that have superior lane control and constant shove creeps into enemy turrets (that now have plating! which is a gold mine) . Again this makes them vulnerable to ganking and here is where they are balanced around. And a jungle that doesn't gank those lanes is basically throwing the game

Illabethe3 votes

Yes and No. There's a nuanced counterargument.

You do realize most consistent feeders are due to outright counters?

Yes..... there are your run of the mill "I can do anything" yoloers.....

But then there's people who are in a fight where their lane opponent has a massive 73% Win rate in the exchange with the champ they are playing, because a) They are a pure counter to a kit b) They can turret dive safely c) Their jungler is helping them d) Their laner is a smurf, and the only way to subjugate that smurf, is counterganking.

I Rarely ever feed. However, it does happen. About 12 games into this season, I was Zyra top vs a Yasuo who was D II smurfing in Gold. My jungle duo had computer issues at the time, and was getting bugsplat in that game. Basically, 4v5 with no jungler.

All it took for the Yasuo to completely dominate my Zyra, was for his Vi to gank level 1. They didn't kill me, but they did make me recall.

Instant level 1 vs level 3.

Not only that, but the Yasuo was perfect at forcing. He would set up a wave to where I had to step in Q range to actually farm/last hit something, in a specific location. If I didn't I'd lose the entire wave. If I did, he would release a tornado the very second I was about to start my auto attack animation. And he always released from a position where I couldn't walk left or right and avoid it, because of the way the waves were constructed in blocking me.

Later game, he began trick shotting. When I had to recall, and walk back to lane, he'd go take our Jungle Gromp, use it to charge his Q, and as soon as I walked past my first turret, I'd get Q ulted across the wall, before I was even in Ward range. He likely even used Flash to increase the distance on his Q.

I would call this a pure counter. I needed jungle help. I didn't have it.

You are right. It is my fault. When I make an unnecessary tower dive to try and kill my low HP lane opponent, but it ends up backfiring & I hand them a free kill. My opponent will naturally beat me through items alone. Yeah, that's my fault. When I go into a match up while not knowing the best way to play it. Whether it be me not knowing the best way to play the champ I'm currently playing, me not knowing the best way to play against certain champs or both. I disagree, there are many match-up's that are seemingly balanced to have jungler assistance. Match-ups where you see the best players 40cs down and nothing to do in the lack of jg assistance and sure they aren't dead but that 40+ cs lead makes them 3-0 in terms of gold so they might as well have died at that point. Especially top lane, being the longest solo lane and a history of being the most counter-picked lane in the game.
