a plea to ADCs.

Its when midlaners blow there entire combo on the wave when the see you approach...
[slayer-jinx-unamused]
Exactly. ADC's will at least let you use in in lanning phase but once that ends and you start grouping up it's by by gold income.
It’s because of the “grouping up” part.
The gold doesn’t go to the ADC if someone (eg your melee top/jungler) is closer to the support, so the carries take it instead.
????? I have no idea what you're saying.
the gold from the stack goes to the closest ally so if the jungler, top laner is the closest to you he'd share the gold from your relic, so the carries farm the wave to get all the gold themselves
So? Using Relic Shield DOUBLES the amount of gold gained from a minion which is worth more value anyway. Not to mention they wipe the whole wave even if it's jut the two of you. I have in fact thought about how I may want the gold or the heal to go to a specific person but I usually can't maneuver myself to do so because I have to race against time to actually get any of the minions.
Once it starts hitting more towards late game, there is no point to trying to use your relic shield. Reason being, takes to fucking long if a minion is not injured. Now we are wasting time just letting a support get rid of some stacks. Late game adc usually 1 shot a back line minion and are almost always critting, so they kill minion very easily. Cant tell you how many waves I've destroyed late game just because of that static shiv crit murdering the wave. Early game to mid game I'll let them stack, however late game we have shit to do, and games to end.
As a mid-laner... 1: I'm usually trying to clear fast and roam or push the tower down. 2: I may be worried about enemies coming our way too. 3: If there is time, I will usually let them get the minions (and specifically try to leave the highest value minions up for them).
Dont lie to us
You see us supports coming and are like "aram phase is beginning, better take this cs before the rest of the scrubs come"
[slayer-jinx-wink]
That actually is a legit concern I have.
I'm not always in a position where I can afford to ARAM for 10 minutes, fighting my ADC for cs when there is perfectly good gold and xp bags being wasted in bot lane.
Kinda a result of my champion pool being assassins or Azir... Makes it a case of "Ew, teamfights" or "Errr.... can we come back and do this again in 25 minutes plz?"

[slayer-jinx-unamused]
I appear to be low on health...if you would just let me smack these 4 minions here-
Creates explosive ball on minions
picks up minion and throws it back at minions creating another explosion
force pushes destructive ball through entire minion wave killing everything
[zombie-nunu-bummed]
The actual reason is because when you're approaching the ADC/AD jg/AD top is right behind and they'll literally take every single minion if I don't have an ability that does more damage than their auto attacks, on top of standing closer to you to get the relic gold
For christs sake, its been around for over 2 years. Learn what a relic shield is and what it does.
I know right "LEONA STOP FUCKING TAKING THE CANON MINION!!!" as i have a relic shield proc...
The worst part is the gold will appear above their heads as well.
They can see they just got 40 gold.
Where the fuck they think they got that from? The fucking moon people?
Yea, nothing like having my thresh spam pings the siege minion, only to miss it. Then the next one, then the next. So the next one i just dont bother.
So a plea to supports with relic, dont miss your minions, also if you're gonna take a minion - Siege>melee>caster. Dont waste it on a caster when you can take a siege minion.
It'sa only thresh that has that issue with relic shield. Tell any threshes that the execution passive doesn't work, so they should let their E charge up first.

It's the same for Rakan.
Melee champions are considered 125 or 175 attack range. Rakan's attack range is 300 and Thresh is 450 so they have to last hit to share the gold.
What triggers me as an ADC player is when I'm being supported by a
or
and I intentionally leave the cannon for them to relic shield share the gold and they miss it, causing us both to lose a cannon worth of gold.
If you play
or
and keep missing cannons, please go
instead. If I leave a cannon for you to relic share I expect you to get it. If you can't then tell me and I'll take it.
well yeah you just don't get it on rakan :o

How is that a fix?
Cannon was missing from the original list.

Uh, the minions with the cannons are called Siege Minions.
Then what are the minions called when you take the inhib? I thought those were siege?
Those are called super-minions.
Every time you break an inhibitor it says "ally super minions spawning".
Well don't I feel silly now.

To be fair Thresh is THE HARDEST get that to get that to proc. I don't why they haven't fixed that, its pretty goddamn hard compared to any other tank.

Bonus on hit attack damage thanks to passive can't last hit a minion.
Shameful
I don't why they haven't fixed that
There's really no good way for them to resolve this.

- Special casing him would be awkward and unintuitive.
- Generic change could open it up to abuse by others.
- Thresh has his E passive to help with last hits.
There's really no good way for them to resolve this.
And that's why I own every support and off support champ under the sun BUT thresh. Too frustrating to do something so damn basic.
And that's why I own every support and off support champ under the sun BUT thresh. Too frustrating to do something so damn basic.
Try playing him ADC instead.

Or you can just play him how CT intended.
Anywhere doing anything. (>_>)
Thresh isn't a good support imho
Thresh is the Lee Sin of supports. Takes hundreds of games on him to be even decent. Huge skill ceiling.
Thresh as a champion is exactly as good as the player playing him. TONS of skill expression in that champ. TONS of room for playmaking/outplays/creativity.
So yeah thresh is super garbage if you haven't put any time into him. He's not a champ you can just pick up and be like "I'm good at thresh."
You and thresh have to go through some shit together. You gotta wear the scars of battle together. You gotta wade through trash and feces before you can really shine. Don't take my word for it, just check out his winrate-to-games-played
https://www.leagueofgraphs.com/champions/stats/thresh
You can be an absolute GOD on thresh if you put the time in. Just like Lee Sin. or you can play him 4 times and decide he's garbage, which is fine too.
But don't you sit there and tell me thresh is a bad support when he's one of the most played supports in the LCS since his release.
Also consider he's not really meta right now, so many people who are playing him have no idea what they're doing, and shouldn't be playing thresh to begin with, since he doesn't really mesh with the way the game is currently played.
Imho, what makes Thresh Support hard is communicating his Lantern combos.
Allies who grab lantern are transported to Thresh. If Thresh lands Q before an ally grabs lantern, Thresh can reactivate Q in time to transport himself and the ally to the hooked enemy. The number of times I've landed such a simple sounding combo is extremely low.
In fact- I find my ADCs putting themselves in harms way just to go grab a lantern I was using to safely collect souls. It's like everyone has a crack-like addiction to grabbing the lantern no matter what its being used for.
I also see a lot of Thresh players building wrong: Starting Q and maxing Q first. I start E and max E first. I actually level up E,Q,E,W. The hook is your engage, but Thresh's kit relies on the soul buffer from his Flay (E). This is why Thresh sups can't utilize Relic Shield until around lvl 8- they haven't buffed their Flay attack.
Another issue I see is Thresh players not knowing exactly how Lantern works. When the lantern is "used", both Thresh and nearby ally gain a shield. So if an ally grabs lantern he dashes to you and you both are shielded. BUT- what people don't seem to realize is if Thresh walks out of the lantern AOE he still gets that shield- and if an ally is close enough they do to- which is a better mitigation technique is many scenarios than diving into the fray.
I also don't see Thresh players using Q as an escape tool often. Q is a nice snare, which sets up a good Thresh grab, ult, and flay combo. But now you're down 3 abilities with just a lantern left. Unless you don't Ult the combo and try to use it as a buffer for an escape- you're pretty much a fish in a barrel. I max E and harass enemies with ranged AAs with fully charged E- and use my E more than my Q to engage. I like to save my Q for tight situation where I might need to hook a jungle creep and reactivate for a quick escape.
But- I don't like Thresh support because the difficulty of teamwork and proper use of combinations in the support setting.
As an ADC- Thresh's kit is amazing. He has slight range to his attacks- equal to Jinx's minigun. His Q,E, and R are great gap closers and CC options. Land Q on the enemy ADC, reactivate and use R before you reach them, use E to Flay them into a second wall- they haven't been able to make any actions bc of CC and have taken a decent amount of damage by now- plus Flay is fully charged and ready to chunk off the rest of their health. Because Thresh collects Armor through the course of the game- then building AD itemization gives a slight advantage over your opponent- providing you natural defense against their Attacks that they don't have against yours.
My only gripe is that if you see the siege minion and you have a charge, TAKE IT.
because I can't tell you how many times i've had cases where there's a siege minion in lane and I dont hit it at all only to catch my support walking back and forth aimlessly in lane and I end up missing the cannon because I assumed they would get it and they didnt
then they immediately go kill another minion after the siege dies
when you have one instance happen in a game and make a post exaggerating it into an epedemic it isnt

Are you kidding me, have you ever played a tank support? It is an epidemic, OP isn't the only one suffering from it. You could argue that the gold missed isn't that important but it's still annoying nonetheless.
one instance
Now I'm sure you've never played a tank support.
OK but on the flip, a plea to supports.
Please don't use all your stacks ASAP, save at least one for healing.
Yeah this. I always burn the first one ASAP and keep the second for heals. The recharge for the first one usually comes back when the first cannon comes to bot meaning you should always have one for it.
OK but on the flip, a plea to supports.
Please don't use all your stacks ASAP, save at least one for healing.
No. Expend both right away for the CS on the first wave. You will get a charge before the first siege minion wave. Your carry shouldn't be diving before siege minion.
"for healing"
I don't care about the cannon, save one TO HEAL ME if we have a bad trade.
You shouldnt be trading at lvl 1
Sorry they have a
support
So because they can overpower you in trades- that's a good reason to trade? Sounds like feeder logic to me.
Taking damage =/= a trade. If Sona runs up to me, uses Q then runs away, I'm not trading with her. If Brand throws an E on me, can't dodge that, and walks away, I'm not trading, they're doing their jobs as poke supports.
sounds like low elo issues to me lul
More like NA issues
Depends on your definition of low elo.People still dont know that in p1/d5/d4
oh man. all the people who claim d4\d5 being high elo and all... I haven't seen people saying it about plat tbh. But it makes sense when you think about it. When you're a hardstuck silver-bronze player you view pretty much all of the above as 'high'-elo. I bet this is how 95% of the silver-bronze population thinks
Well i think you shouldnt place d4 player in the same catagory as b5 player...
