His heal, combined with the Censer, affects minions as well. It's not much, but useful to know if you're hitting an enemy turret.

I wonder if the bonus magic damage they're adding to it will effect minions aswell...

That would be wicked if it did, but it wouldn't affect the turrets much. Hell, it wouldn't make much a difference if the enemy was behind the line of scrimmage. But it would sure as hell push the lane.
