The Shen changes on PBE are going to hurt him a ton while hardly moving his power away from pro play

The Q nerfs are going to remove one of the best things about Shen, his ability to farm under turret.

His E gets a SLIGHT buff in that its energy cost is going down and its width is increasing.

And then his ult changes. Sure, it takes away from offensive uses, but the shield strength isnt taking away from those uses because teams use it for the teleport, where Shen can come across the map on a mobile champ, not a stationary ward, so teams have less time to react and move away from the danger. The shield strength being lower unless the ally in hurt also take away from shens power, since sometimes you have to start the channel when you see the enemy about to dive, since you wont make it if you start the channel when your ally is already taking damage. And then you just slapped ANOTHER CD nerf on to it.

So, it total, you have a large Q nerf, a minor E buff, and large change/nerf to his ultimate. Its 20/30/40 seconds longer CD than live for his ult atm.

So, in an attempt to remove some of Shen's team play presence while retaining his ability to solo queue, you are just nerfing him almost across the board, and pro teams that pick him for a split-push tank with a global are STILL gonna pick him, since the ult change doesnt effect offensive plays at all, but makes defensive ones harder to pull off, since you have a weaker shield but still a 3 second channel.

I really hope that these changes don't go through, because if they do, Shen will be absolute garbage in solo queue.

If you really wanted a way to change his power in pro/team play while retaining solo queue presence, I have one suggestion.

Revert the Q nerfs. Revert the ult nerfs/changes. Instead, increase his ult CD across the board to something rediculous, like 240 or more seconds.

Then, you make it so that Shen is rewarded for ulting to low health targets. If his target is below 50% health when Shen activates his ult, Stand United's CD is reduced by 30% and Shen only takes 2 seconds to channel. If his target is below 30% health when Shen activates Stand United, its CD is reduced by 50% and Shen only takes 1 second to channel. If his target is below 10% health when Shen activates Stand United, its CD is reduced by 50%, Shen only takes 1 second to channel, and the shield strength is increased by 25%.

This way you take away a ton of the power that comes from offensive uses of his ult, while rewarding good defensive uses, but at the same time not hamstringing Shen in lane by taking away a lot of his solo presence. Hell, you could even add in a "This ability is unaffected by CDR" to stop people from rushing 40% CDR so that his ult is up all the time.

Shen should be a alone for like 90% of the game, as a ninja, and strong by himself, but his clutch ults are absolutely key to his kit.

But hold that Lux buff though

Meddler did say that this wasn't the end of the changes. I would recommend waiting until all the changes have surfaced, before taking a stance.
