The dark seal gives 100 mana and 15 ap, literally more mana then the Ring would ever give you, and you come out with a refillable pot.
Champions that have to rush Tear first tend to start ring, but if you're an early game champ against an aggressive.. corrupting potion is just so much better.
Sailor Mint2 votesTaking into account only base mana regen rates (6.0 MP5 at level 1), you gain 36 mana per minute. It takes less than 3 minutes of laning for it to be mana positive. And then you can add 4 mana per cs, for another ~36 mana per minute with an average cs rate.
As for health:
Conlusion: Dark Seal + Refillable Potion leaves you weaker than Doran's Ring + 2 Potions until your first Recall.
