Resolve on Soraka.... viable?

Resolve: Grasp of the undying Font of Life Iron Skin Revitalize

Inspiration: Biscuit Delivery Celestial Body

Why?

  • Grasp allows you to replenish your health with more than just your Q procs.
  • Font of life gives your adc a little more healing when you land a Q or an E or exhaust.
  • Iron skin gives you a little more durability when the ADC inevitably focuses you, or when trading.
  • Revitalize is pretty self explanatory.
  • Biscuit delivery gives you a way to replenish your health. More health for you = more heals for your carry.
  • Celestial body gives you 100 more health to work with early, on top of the +130 bonus you get from Resolve + Inspiration. +230 health early is huge.

What do you think of this?

Auto-ing people with Grasp will stop being as viable of an option in the mid/late game

Honestly, Riot screwed up by putting Revitalise on the tank rune path - tanks really don't need that rune as badly as healer supports would have needed it in Inspiration

Yeah....apart from Taric who would use that rune? And even then, he's got other options...better options if I am not mistaken.

Yeeeah, I'm more of a Lethal Tempo Taric fan myself, since 5.00+ attack speed is funny

I'd say that sounds like a terrible idea to me... You generally want to avoid stacking a bunch of health on Soraka UNLESS you're gonna go for that early item 3083 ASAP. But even then, it's still not the most optimal thing to do...

Since Soraka's heal costs 10% of her MAXIMUM health per cast, the difference in health cost for a 1200 HP Soraka and 3000+ HP Soraka is huge. (120 HP cost vs. 300+ HP cost) That's of course without saying that getting HP doesn't increase the potency of her heals at all (unlike Taric ) and going with Guardian keystone puts a lot of your effectiveness behind a 45 second cooldown.

TL;DR - Having more HP without any AP to compensate the increased health cost per W cast will hurt you more than it will help you in the long run...

That's why you want AP upfront first and foremost, but that isn't to say you need to avoid HP items like the plague... Generally speaking, item 2301 -> item 3174 -> item 3107 -> item 3504 is a build that i have great success with even in Dia5 ranked games.

Running Sorcery+Resolve ofc

_Aery or Comet _ (Depending on matchup, there are some where you can bully people around really hard early on with Comet, like say Draven who litterally shows you where to aim your Q's)

The Ultimate Hat (For those late game 50 sec cd ults)

Transcendence (Overcapping CDR isn't so hard with support items so this is always useful since literally anything you build SHOULD have 10% CDR on it, the only problem will be getting to level 10)

Scorch or Gathering Storm (Again, depends on personal preference and match-ups, Scorch is for early pressure, Gathering Storm for late game AP stacking)

As for the secondary path, you've got two options... Resolve or Inspiration From Resolve i'd recommend - Font of Life or Conditioning + Revitalize and from Inspiration - Future's Market or Slightly Magical Boots + Cosmic Insight or Biscuit Delivery

Sorry for the wall of text, just leaving my thoughts and opinions on the matter. Cheers. [draven-pose]
