It sounds like you need to focus on using your advantages you earn yourself on affecting the map. Each champion can do that in their own way. Fiora/Camille/Kled: Swap side lanes repeatedly until you can 1v3 and take towers, or use flanking teleports to instagib enemy carries in the back line Cho/Mao/Naut: roam and be a beefy frontline that locks down enemy carries for your team to kill with ease.
There will always be games where your team gets behind and then there is nothing you can do, that isnt top lane exclusive (cant tell you how many times Im 4/0 as an adc and the 3 item fiora shows up at some point and 2 shots me because our jungler didnt help top keep her from farming)
The biggest issue I have with your post is the fact that you are trying to cast off the responsibility of not being able to respond/adapt to how the game is going. If your bot is 0/6 and they lose tower you need to KNOW that the enemy bot lane is going to swap to take top tower, you need to put advanced and deep wards down to prevent that lvl 3 gank by researching and understanding common jungle paths (if you get killed by a cheese path then that is unfortunate and shouldnt happen very often)
If you are CRUSHING lane, either take towers to give your team global gold, or roam to affect the map and get kills/objectives. Or even translate your lane pressure into pressure on the enemy jungler by invading for wards or to take a camp or two to set them behind in xp and gold.
Just because they are pro doesnt mean that they are automatically correct. Dyrus has disliked top for several seasons now, he explained initially because it was changing from a hard fought 1v1 centered mechanics based role to a more team oriented survive for the good of the team role.
A lot of old school top laners are pretty fed up with top because every season League becomes more and more team reliant. There are less 1v9 solo carry chances and top laners who used to just be their own island (almost playing their own mini game seperate from the rest of the game) are now more and more required to take part in, and be at the mercy of their team.
Im by no means perfect. Nor do I feel like top lane (or league in general) is in a perfect spot at the moment but I dont think any of the points you brought up are even remotely close to the actual issue.
