Total DMG dealt to champions does not mean u're good

Especially after u've lost the game.

I can charge in on 5 people to deal plenty of dmg. That does not mean those dmg is worth anything.

Gold earned meant a lot more in such cases.

This dude was comparing dmg dealt after game loss.

Discuss.

Damage to champions? No. Damage to objectives? Yes.

I mean, I play Illaoi and Darius and can easily deal metric tons of damage to any number of enemies. However, outside of Illaoi's wave clear, they are terrible with structures. Illaoi can also solo Herald and Dragons, but needs Death's Dance and at least one tentacle in the pit to do anything reasonably.

Why do I play these champs if damage to champions means little? Because if I can kill one enemy in a teamfight while simultaneously weakening others, I've won despite dying as long as a carry is around to clean up.

It depends on your lane and champion you play. Teemo for example will always deal atrociously high damage just because of how his shrooms work and his poison poke damage in lane. Someone like a Vayne though dealing higher damage than a Teemo legitimately means the Vayne did pretty well (or the Teemo was god awful).

Damage to champions is part of how you're graded but this is why it's compared to the same champion in the same position.
